My Indian guest would like to wear a sari to the Royal Enclosure.
We have no idea what’s expected in the way of headgear as in India nobody wears a hat with a sari. I can’t recall ever having seen anyone wear a sari at Ascot before (all the Arabic and Asian ladies wear dresses and hats; I’ve never even seen a hijab).
I know National Dress is acceptable and I’ve emailed the office for clarification, but the auto responder says they’re so busy they’re taking five days to reply, which won’t leave much time for my guest to pick out an outfit if she needs one.
Does anyone more familiar with Ascot than me know what’s expected? I’d be mortified if she was turned away.
