I've been trying a few different ones because I can't get my usual sunscreen (Natio for Men spf 30 Moisturiser). I would probably go back to Natio if it comes back into stock on Amazon but this is a very close second. It doesn't irritate my skin (about 90% of them do), it doesn't sting my eyes (I apply on my eyelids), it doesn't suck all the moisture out of my skin (a lot of mineral based ones do that), it doesn't ball up and peel off or slide off when I sweat, it doesn't have a white sheen. The only fault I might pick with it is that it's a serum and it goes on a bit tacky and takes a while to dry properly, whereas the Natio sinks in in a couple of minutes. It also stays a bit shiny all day, more of a glow than an oil slick but definitely not a matte finish. At the end of the day my skin still feels lovely and hydrated, so the moisture is longer lasting than the Natio. I don't wear make up so I'm not sure how it would act under foundation.

If you don't have extra super dry skin then stay away from this, don't say I didn't warn you. Grin

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 01/06/2022 20:39

It's La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 Aquagel SPF30 (link might not be showing properly depending on what platform you're viewing MN).

I have sensitive, combination skin, sometimes quite dry. (as I recently started using Tretinoin). This could work. I'll certainly try it! I have the Roche posay Anthelios cream and spray (and a garnier over make up spray) already.

Thank you!

If it's got hyaluronic acid, doesn't it need to be applied on wet skin?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 03/06/2022 11:41

I didn't know that was a thing for hyaluronic acid. The instructions say just to apply it, but one of the ingredients is water so probably doesn't need extra water to be applied first.

That's not the thinking behind it. Google it. I can't explain it very well because I can't

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 03/06/2022 16:33

I'll have a Google, but it's the second best sunscreen for my skin that I've ever used with a dry application so I can't imagine a wet application would make much difference.

I've had a Google and all the recommendations that I can find are that you can apply directly if it's a relatively low volume of hyaluronic acid as part of a moisturising product, so this sunscreen is fine. It's definitely not sucking the moisture out of my skin anyway, still very hydrated and dewy after a full day here.
