Laser hair removal - experiences please!

I'm booked in for a patch test for laser hair removal and wanted to hear some experiences of it. How long did it take to see results? Did it hurt? Was it worth it?

I wanted to get full body but the thought of shaving my entire body in order to get laser puts me off as I would never ordinarily shave my back or stomach etc. Don't think I could even reach my back!

So I'll be getting my legs, underarms and bikini (thinking brazillian or hollywood bikini).

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts and experiences.
It's one of those where I wonder why more people don't just get it done as it's pretty much a one time cost with minimal top ups in the future, right? So maybe I'm missing something?

I am currently having diode laser. I've only had one session top to toe but can say I have noticed a difference already. I have south Asian skin and dark thick hair unfortunately so not the ideal candidate but still noticed results. I'm 2.5weeks post first session and the hair on my arms has grown back slower and thinner. Usually by the end of week one I have short noticeable stubble yet today I can slightly feel it but not see it unless in certain lights. On my upper lip and chin, there has been no improvement at all after this first session- in fact I feel worse about it as I can't wax as I ordinarily would so instead have to shave which I hate 😭😫 My legs are growing back slower and in patches- no improvement around the knee area but can notice it everywhere else. I think it will take longer to see an improvement in the areas with thicker hair but I'm hopeful!. Wish I had started it earlier as I'm going on holiday next month.

I had a course of 6 sessions which reduced the hair, but didn't eradicate it all. So booked on for another 6 sessions. My bikini line and legs do still get the odd stray hair coming through but it just needs a once over swipe with a razor whereas before treatment it needed proper hacking through a jungle. My armpits have remained totally clear.

I tried laser on my chin. 8 sessions. It was hot and a bit uncomfortable. Complete waste of time. I went for electrolysis in the end which was much more effective and cheaper. I’m pale and the hairs on my chin were quite dark. Maybe try your legs first and see how you get on before buying a whole body package.
