Crest teeth whitening strips or going to the dentist?

I've had a recent dentist check-up and I don't suffer with sensitive teeth. I was thinking of going to my dentist to get my teeth whitened. They are not very yellow, just a bit duller than I would like. I just want to brighten them up slightly, but still be natural. My family member has some Crest whitening strips from the US that they have said I can use.

I'm not sure which option to go for. Obviously the white strips are easier and will save me a lot of money.

I have a dentist hygienist appointment coming up, so would it be best to wait for that first before doing any whitening treatments?

@JinglingHellsBells ·I actually got the same as you described, a mould and the gels for home use, which was quite expensive. I didn't see a difference after 2 weeks.

The US level strips work, they mould around the teeth but I would not use them for more than 3 times a week because despite it all, that level of hydrogen peroxide isn't allowed for reasons and probably degrades enamel

I get crest professional effects, 20 strips which is 10 treatments as thats for top and bottom. Those type have the highest reviews on ukteethwhitening.

Where from, Cook, if you don't mind me asking?
