Nails for engagement

In desperate need of help. Getting engaged next week and I don’t know where to start with getting my nails done - is it best to get gel or acrylic? What’s the difference?
what colour should I go for?

Naturally manicured.
DH proposed on the spur of the moment. I accepted, we told our parents, booked the church, chose a ring and then announced the engagement. Nobody except parent and grandparents knew until the engagement.

It was really nice to be able to say, yes here's the ring, yes the wedding arranged it's on 1st July.

What state/length are your natural nails right now? Do you have regular manicures anyway? I'd go for a (gel) French polish, or even a French ombre with BIAB as a base. But that will need either redoing or removing at a salon.

Either of these would be lovely.
