Please can any of you ladies advise me.. I dont know what to do with this colour mess I have made. My roots need doing but I dont know how to approach it. I was dark last year and managed to bleach it and box dye it and was quite happy but now when I box dye it there is an orange tone on the top, not the length that is fine. Is it regrowth that needs bleaching now? Do i just tone it? I am utterly clueless. Please please dont advise a hairdresser as I have huge anxiety and cannot afford it anyway but I don't know what to do... thank you and please dont be mean. I know my hair is in bad condition etc.

Babes, it is a little orange but honestly not too bad. I’ve had actual hairdressers fucking my hair up, so I get that you’d like to do it yourself- I also do mine.

But, get yourself to Sally’s and ask for bleach you’ll mix up yourself and a cool toner.

  1. Let your hair get as greasy as possible.
  2. Brush bleach onto orange bits.
  3. Brush toner on, then rinse.
Also, watch Brad Mondo on YouTube- I highly recommend his advice for Colourist and toning!

You’ll need to put more bleach on to remove the orange as I doubt a toner would work on that or purple shampoo.

Failing that cover with a warm brunette (like nice n easy medium golden brown).

or get it sorted properly.
