Talk me out of/into this jacket

I’ve been saving for a smart blazer to wear with jeans, I love this one and thanks to cookies it’s been stalking me around the internet for weeks.

I can’t get my head around how it will look with jeans though- is it too corporate? Too unfitted? They have styled it with some sort of grey knitted body stocking/worm suit so that’s not much help.

Obviously I can return if necessary. Just interested in whether people think it will work for what I want.

Urgh horrible colour and fabric

I'm addicted to Zara blazers at the moment and have bought 3

Mercedesbenz2022 · 26/05/2022 18:13

I think this is closer to your criteria
sorry can’t do links but it is by arlket and £150

Plenty of shapeless polyester blazers in any charity shop (probably discarded by 1970's bus conducters.

nearlyspringyay · 26/05/2022 18:16

It's really dull, sorry OP

Thank you- that’s not what I’m looking for but appreciate the suggestion.

Have you looked at Frankie Shop @Despinetta ?

I will do- thank you.

And the colour is something a 1970s bus conductor would refuse to wear

thus about sums up my take on it & I like grey.

I agree with zara blazers - good quality for the cost imo

Despinetta · 26/05/2022 19:01

Oh I do like that one- thank you!

Also quite like this one www.mytheresa.com/en-gb/isabel-marant-etoile-charly-herringbone-wool-jacket-1239151.html?utm_source=sea_pla&utm_medium=google&utm_campaign=google_sea&ef_id=CjwKCAjwyryUBhBSEiwAGN5OCJmvBzpTTTgVpWFIhP7b0uQna-u76Im6tD-peaIbDwcUjtUZGxUB8hoCX3wQAvD_BwE:G:s&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=CjwKCAjwyryUBhBSEiwAGN5OCJmvBzpTTTgVpWFIhP7b0uQna-u76Im6tD-peaIbDwcUjtUZGxUB8hoCX3wQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&slink=1

How about this? Much finer fabric and better cut, so manages the no vent thing. May possibly go into the sale.

The Outlet one would be really versatile, it’ll look good with midi dresses as well as jeans. (I think I own two dresses 😬)

midsomermurderess · 26/05/2022 19:44

I much prefer the pinstripe twill jacket that appears on the same page s ‘you might also like this one unlike the first one, this has something about it.

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 26/05/2022 20:03

That maje one is so bulky and pintucks are weird, if you'd do prince of wales this one is much nicer and cheaper

I really like the shape but I think even with jeans the grey might look a touch corporate and I agree that the fabric, along with the lack of buttons and back vent and possible fake pockets are not good value.

If you're after that kind of shape have you considered men's suit jackets? I realise they were mentioned as a joke but trust me, once you've tried all those inside pockets, you'll be the one laughing. I don't know what size you are but I'm a 10/8 and I've just found a Top Man pure wool suit jacket in a charity shop - size 34, fits really well and it's bloody brilliant (3 inside pockets, oh my, I may never need to buy a handbag again).
Or Uniqlo have got this one in wool. I'd be trying one myself but I'd need XXS which has already gone.

EwwSprouts · 26/05/2022 20:45

The Outnet one with jeans is the best so far.

FibbyJiggins · 26/05/2022 20:55

I'm not into the Maje blazer. Looks like an Edwardian riding jacket.

Innocenta · 26/05/2022 21:49

I love the Maje one. Has slight Cabbages & Roses vibe, but less twee.

I much prefer the colour, cut and detailing of the navy Zara Crosshatch Knox Blazer (£185, 62% Viscose, 36%Polyester, 2% Elastane):

www.jigsaw-online.com/products/crosshatch-knox-blazer-navy?queryID=9277a1b4d3bd3c3bd1fcd3434cde6cad

but would prefer to see some wool in a blazer.

whatisheupto · 26/05/2022 22:00

Looks like Primark.

There are much nicer blazers out there!!

Varietyplaza · 26/05/2022 22:00

I don't mind it. Not my style but it's nice enough. I'd avoid that store though. Way too many bad experiences myself and read of from others. They used to be fabulous but went downhill in the past few years.
