Non frumpy flat sandals

Sorry, another sandals post!
I need to upgrade my almost worn out summer sandals, but there’s so much to choose from. I want something flat ( but not too flat, like flip flop flat! ) and comfy enough to walk a lot in. But not too frumpy/mumsy. Was thinking maybe DM sandals or similar?
Basically I’m mid forties and starting to feel a bit boring and middle aged. I want something practical, but also a bit cool and fashionable to make me feel better 😁I also have quite small feet and thin ankles ( though my legs are fairly sturdy ) so not sure if chunky ones will work.

Many thanks for all the suggestions. After much deliberation I’ve gone for these Toms ones. Wasn’t going for tan originally but need something that goes with everything if I’m spending £70!

I’d recommend these or these from Clarks. Quite chunky, comfortable for walking, a bit bouncy.

I've got these ones from eBay. Seller has them in different sizes under different listings. They're really comfy. I usually wear flats as I have painful feet but these work really well for me.

None of my DM sandals needed breaking in. They are super comfy, but they are quite heavy also not ideal if you plan on doing a lot of walking.

BigPants2022 · 04/06/2022 18:16

Salt water sandals

they have some lovely styles

User1234567891011121314 · 04/06/2022 18:23

Following ! I need flat wide closed toe not asking for a lot! The Tom's looks nice @Cydonia let us know how you get on.

baffledbunny · 04/06/2022 18:30

I'm not big on Toms as I had their canvas leather shoe which I loved but they frayed within the first two months of wearing them, (not even every day!)
Have you tried looking at Crocs sandals? Not the horrible (imo) clogs but their other ranges- I have a pair of their mule wedges and it's really comfy. Some of their other ones look comfy too:

Saltwater even!!

I don't think Saltwater work if you have properly wide feet.

Kimmothy · 04/06/2022 18:52

I really like Matalan’s sandals - they have some lovely ones! I got a lovely pair of footbed sandals last week - can wear with something dressy or casual :)

DaisyDouglas · 04/06/2022 19:16

Check out Moshulu's Seville range. They are super comfortable and in my opinion very attractive. I have three pairs, in colours and print, because I love them and wear them constantly in the summer. 😊

DaisyDouglas · 04/06/2022 19:20

Oh yeah, and Moshulu are of quality materials and wear really well. I highly recommend.

Started a thread about these bargain DM dupes, but nobody cares so I’m posting them here 😂

Usernamenotavailabletryanother I love the look of these. What is the sizing like? How wide/narrow are they please?

Vickidrama · 04/06/2022 19:52

Pavers have some lovely sandals you can actually walk in and Moshulu also stylish and comfortable. Have a check round for discount codes as often have offers this time of year 👍

The Fit Flop wedge Eloise ones are great. So comfortable! I can walk for miles in mine. And they're no more expensive than DMs. I was going to buy DMs but people say they take ages to break in. The ones I was thinking of buying also weigh a ton!

Ooh good news, I ordered a pair of these yesterday 😁

Cydonia · 04/06/2022 20:13

My Toms sandals have arrived, but it’s still cold here in Cumbria so not had chance to wear them yet! They seem comfy, the straps are backed with suedey stuff so I’m hoping they won’t rub. They are only just wide enough though so if you need a wide fit I don’t think they would be good.

Jumping in to ask if anyone can recommend any non-frumpy sandals with arch support? I need to wear orthotic insoles in my normal shoes but obviously you can't do that with sandals.

Thanks!

Germolenequeen · 04/06/2022 20:32

I've just ordered these - Hush Puppies Women's Kayla Flip Flops amzn.eu/d/75S9pwE have them in blue too - they are so light & comfy 😊

Pleiades2020 · 04/06/2022 20:49

These? www.clarks.co.uk/c/Manilla-Bonita/p/26115613

But are they frumpy? I never really know, they might be. Who knows? Comfy though.

User1234567891011121314 · 04/06/2022 21:08

@Cydonia thanks for the feedback hopefully it'll warm up in Crumbia!
@Pleiades2020 those are so nice not frumpy I don't think anyway.
I ended up purchasing these

No idea I’m afraid, DM style are not my thing- I know the fisherman style ones they had a few weeks ago sold out very fast as £25 is not bad for leather sandals… I’ll see if I can find a review of those

Usernamenotavailabletryanother · 04/06/2022 21:29

Someone on their insta says they’re true to size.

NannaKaren · 04/06/2022 21:44

Fit flip wedge (high) sandals - feel
like normal ‘low’ fit flop footwear - bloody magic !

Confusedteacher · 04/06/2022 21:55

Another vote for saltwater- I have these in rose gold- bought them 3 years ago when I was going on a holiday that involved a lot of walking but also evenings out- they are so comfy and still great condition! www.salt-watersandals.com/gb-en/original-rose-gold-womens-sandals.html
