For the first time in my life I have 2 festivals Togo to in the summer

The blue dot festival and shambala

Dp is a seasoned festival goer with the children and I'm invited .

What do people wear ?!?! I've seen dps festival stuff and it's all slightly random and - sparkly .

Help me ! Size 12 . Good tits and legs . Middle bit ok when sucked in 😂.

I’m hoping for inspiration too.

I'm going to bluedot too so might see you there 😂
I've been twice before and it's generally an older crowd and most people dress for comfort / practicality as opposed to the glamour you can see at places such as Glastonbury. I wear stuff not too removed from my usual clothing - so leggings, dresses, jeans. I would just go with what you feel comfortable in. Some people do dress up / go very glam but they are in the minority.
Can't comment on shambala though.

I'm going to a festival with my daughter this year and I'm wearing a fitted knee length tea dress from nobody's child at M&S and my white puma trainers with a straw trilby. I'm going for comfort as the idea of standing around all day fills me with horror without comfort.

Something comfy because you’ll probably be sitting in the grass at least some of the time. Also layers, if you’re up very late it can get cold, even in August. Most important is comfy sensible footwear!

I tend to take dresses, leggings, cycling shorts (worn appropriate to weather) a fleece, waterproof jacket, hiking boots. Sun hat pair of jogging bottoms for nighttime

I think blue dot might be easier than shambala which seems more hippy and out there ....
Apparently at shambala there is "freedom Friday " where the blokes dress as women 🤷🏻‍♀️. His festival gear is eye opening 😂.

This is all an education 😂

I'd just have a look on EMP and get something from there.

I've just looked back through my bluedot photos to double check and everyone in the background is super casual- lots of rain anoraks and wellies in 2019 and straw hats and maxi dresses in 2018.
The advice re layering above is spot on. Other tips I would give for a festival virgin:

  • you will need wellies, a heavy shower on day one can cause mud pits even if it doesn't rain again, and long socks to wear underneath to avoid welly chafe
  • you will need a poncho / pack a mac
  • dry shampoo gets you through 3 days without hair washing
  • a back back is great for keeping hands free whilst dancing and key for storing layers
  • a hat with a peak to keep sun / rain out of your eyes as umbrellas aren't always practical
  • body wipes and facial wipes are great for a freshen up
I hope you have fun, we love it
