Alternative to hot stuck to me jeggings

Due to size and stuck in a rut, plus easier to throw on all year around I have been stuck in jeggings(don't worry I have more than a few lol) for a long time. Now we are in what seems to be the depth of the summer, I feel conscious that others look at me and probably think why is she wearing those for, and especially when you are big, I know from other comments how people think if you only dress a certain way or in certain clothes, like just how I feel, that certain other clothing is not acceptable when this big, and not comfortable or confident in it.
I am thinking initially of some alternatives to wearing bottoms so still in keeping with same type of thing. I have tried some cropped jeggings and some looked awful, others very tight. I tried some culottes looked bloody ridiculous on me. Then I have often stuck to jeggings because the thought of wearing other things I then think what will I wear on the top 🤷🏻‍♀️ and then as in trainers all the time, what shoes i would have to wear. So I go back to what I know and are then miserable.
I am done with one or two larger clothing companies never got on with any of their items, material styles, fit all bad. So also wondering if any of you have had success with any companies in particular who are either doing bigger sizes or solely plus size?
I was going to get a few lighter coloured jeggings even, but haven't seen that many where I have looked.
I am 5ft 7 and a size 20-22. Apple shaped, hopefully that helps with any answers greatfully received.
I was so glad to see size 10/12 women in jeans or trousers today although granted they had vest tops on. Another thing I wouldn't wear alone as I hate my arms. Otherwise all other women had dresses on skirts or shorts and I just wanted to hurry back indoors!

I got the medium and I'm about 5'4, length is good, just past the ankles and I wear with trainers or sandals and don't trip over it 🤣

I'm only 5ft 1 so I think would be too long for me. Shame cos I really like them!

I'm the same size/height as you.
For summer I wear:
Maxi dresses - I use the Lanicane gel mentioned above or Chub Rub shorts underneath.
Knee-length dresses with cropped leggings or just bare legs
Denim shorts or cropped jeans with loose tops
I shop in Tu at Sainsburys, FatFace (mostly in the sale but they go up to size 26 in many styles ) - my favourite go-to day dress from there is the Nina.
I also have a few floaty dresses I put a thick 50s style elasticated belt with to nip in & give shape.
Simply Be can have some nice bits, but a lot isn't to my taste. Yours can have the odd gem too.
I also wear super skinny jeans from M&S & leggings with tunics or dresses in winter.

Absolutely tonnes on next website ..
Everyone wears dresses now . Get some thin comfort shorts and some dresses !
The trick is footwear for keeping it casual so trainers or high tops !

Thanks for the suggestion and pics.

Well lol not quite everyone is wearing them, and if they are, they are keeping for certain occasions.

I see loads of women wearing them .. I think you would look so much better than horrid leggings and soooo much cooler !
Good luck in your search !

muthahoodgoods.com/collections/dresses I'm after one of these dresses.

IvorCutler · 24/05/2022 21:36

I had this dress delivered today in the greige. I’ve lumps and bumps and very little confidence at the moment but it hangs really nicely. I think I might get the white one too!

They do look nice, I have had full length ones, so I might give these a try, thanks. Been looking at things on Next's site recently, because I need a warmer rain jacket. And I do like some of what they do, quality was always good too. Not sure who owns Next but they remind me of when we used to have all the Arcadia group of shops still open locally, such as Evans, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis's etc.

H&M do a good plus size range. You'd be about an XL in their sizing. I bought some wide legged pull on trousers that are brilliant, really light and airy, with pockets and long shirt dress in really soft fabric which I was genuinely really pleased with. I'm about the same size as you but a bit shorter.

Snag shorts for under dresses.

That’s really nice @IvorCutler. You’re braver than me with white!
