Black tie - flat shoes

I've well and truly moved away from heels in recent years. I still have some but won't wear them. Hate them.
Just been invited to a work-related black tie event. I have no idea how to wear a black tie dress with flats. Normally I go for shift-shape midi with heels which is flattering, but I am not in love with my legs and don't want to bare them with flats.
Maxi? Floaty maxi doesn't feel "professional" enough.
It's work related so I don't want to wear anything too glam or sexy.
Size 8-10. Not black. £100-200.
Ideas please?

You’ve had some great suggestions OP. I particularly like the Nancy Mac jumpsuits. Maybe teamed with a flat pointy pump in gold or jewelled. Something like this?

I honestly think any dress style will go with flats. I don't wear heels any more either. My dd is wearing flats with her prom dress, as are most of her friends. I think they see heals as a bit old now?
