Hairdresser near Derby or Nottingham
20

crazynell · 12/05/2022 11:59

Hi I'm looking for recommendations for a really good cutter who can cut thick wavy hair.

My hairdresser was a brilliant hair cutter and just knew what you needed. Unfortunately he retired after being very Ill with covid and I don't know where or who to go to.

My hair is a mess and is in desperate need of a cut but I don't want to just go to a random hair salon and hope for the best. Hence my looking for someone else. I want a good cutter who is creative and has the knack, if you know what I mean. Thanks

Near Nottingham or Derby is a pretty big area. Do you want to be more specific?

@SweetPeaPods I live between the two cities about 8 miles away and near a town called Long Eaton. Hope that helps

Tim Foster on Derby Road in Nottingham is a fabulous salon. I have very thick hair and so has my daughter and we both go here. I can very highly recommend!

I can highly recommend DNA art space in Nottingham city centre but there might be one closer that is also good.

I've always been pleased with Keith Hall. I had an appointment at Sally Montague in Sadler Gate in Derby recently and it wasn't a good experience.

@Mercurial123 I had a bad experience with SM of being left waiting for 45 mins with no explanation or apology
KH kept trying to straighten my hair rather than going with the wave

crazynell I found Sally Montague rude and unprofessional. The cut was average and the finish was not good.

Nikki in the Derbion centre at Keith Hall was always good with my hair texture.

I think Sarah Montague have got complacent - riding on their reputation

don’t have thick wavy hair but I’ve been to KH Hair in Nottingham and Ilkeston and they’re both great.

I've got curly hair and I go to Kat at Nudu in Eastwood.

Can recommend Square7Teen in Stapleford (so v. near you) - they do wonders with my hair.

Ooh more suggestions.
Thanks.
@LollyGrabbing @CoffeeWithCheese I've heard of both those.
@IKillHousePlants who would you recommend at Keith's?

Based in Spondon, probably 15 mins from you. The salon is at her house but lots of my friends (of all hair types) use her too.
