Hair loss-nape of neck.

might be the wrong forum-sorry if so.

I have been loosing hair on and off for most of my adult life. Any hormone/contraception change, circumstance change, each baby etc. usually is generalised thinning which recovers a bit with time and a few haircuts and then gets worse again.

Over the last year or 2 this has been more underneath, around nape of neck and behind one ear. My hair is noticeably thinner on one side now and I can’t wear it half up anymore as there’s no ‘down bit’ on one side.

I’ve taken a picture today and now wondering if this is a different thing to usual. It’s been a a gradual process though, it’s not happened over a few weeks.

Anyone have similar? Did you ever get a diagnosis and did it resolve?

Will go to Gp but never really been interested before as I still have hair. Just a lot less….

I have this as well. And very thin patches around my face. Have you had blood tests? I had low ferritin so have been supplementing for months - I’m still yet to see an improvement but am keeping everything crossed that I do. If you’ve not already done so, ask your GP for a full iron panel including ferritin, your vit D, B12 and thyroid. Losing hair is so distressing, I’m right with you!
