Do you have foundation to match your skin tone exactly?

Just wondering as I am torn between Clinique even better glow in cream chamois, No7 essentially natural in cool ivory and No7 hydraluminous in cool vanilla. Cool ivory in No7 is my matched shade (with essentially natural) but the cool ivy in hydraluminous seems darker and the assistant matched me to cool vanilla in that foundation but I feel it could be too pale.

The Clinique shade is the one I chose for myself and it is darker than my skin tone but I do like some colour.

Views anyone please?

I always try to match it as close as I can. I find it often looks obvious if I've got one too dark so would always opt for lighter as I can usually get away with it in the winter.

It probably depends on how different a colour your face and neck are

I am extremely pale / ghostly and the only foundation I've ever found that is a perfect match is Kat Von D's "Lock It" Liquid Foundation in 42.

I wouldn't deliberately choose something that was darker because it would just look more 'obvious', especially if your neck is a lighter colour. You can add colour through tinted BB creams and things that might look a bit more natural?

Mac do a really good match. You just load up your image on their website. I went outside too a couple of times to make sure it came up the same tone. I got the powder foundation and it’s really nice.

Honestly I'm going through this right now. I've used Estée Lauder double wear for 12 plus years. I use one shade in summer and another in winter. But I have to mix them in spring and august because there isn't an exact shade. I like it to match my neck as my neck is quite olive toned and my face is a bit pinky. I'm going to give the Charlotte tilbury a try I think when I next go to the Trafford Centre x

I go a bit darker. I look like a ghost if its the actual shade of my skin as I have freckles so I feel like I loose colour if I go too light.

I’ve tried a few foundations. Clinique, No7, this year I bought a Mac one, the first one didn’t match well however I took it back and they exchanged it for a perfect shade,.
