Black tie event - accessories to go with a red dress?

AntennaReborn · 06/05/2022 16:17

I have been invited to a black tie event through work, with only about 2 weeks' notice, and I have nothing to wear 🙈

I have the 2 dresses attached on order, and one of them will just HAVE to fit but I'm not sure about accessories

I need a bag and shoes, preferably not too high a heel. I'm not looking to invest, as I realistically will probably never need them again, so ideally something reasonably priced.

I am really unsure what I'm even looking for though. Black? Nude? Metallic?

Any help would be much appreciated, and I will give bonus points for anything available express delivery!

Thanks 😊

You might find a bargain on Vinted or EBay if you don’t want to spend much - and then maybe sell on again! 😉

Conniebanana · 06/05/2022 21:08

Gold and get on vinted - if you've got time

ShirleyPhallus · 06/05/2022 21:09

That first dress is just gorgeous, I love it

gold accessories would work well

Thanks everyone for the responses! It looks like metallics might be the easiest to find towards the cheap end of the scale.

I'll have a good look at all the suggestions and probably order several options to try on with the dresses when they arrive

@ElizabethinherGermanGarden the first dress definitely reminded me of that whole sequence 😂 (sadly I haven't quite got the same budget)

And thanks to everyone for validating my choice of dresses!! They're both from Zalando and both under £50.
If they don't fit I'll be in bother though 😂

I too prefer dress 1.

Less is more. Shoes any colour would do and just a simple clutch bag. I personally like the second dress better and doesn't need any jewellery
