Tell me about your leather biker jacket

My Topshop one is on its last legs. It's so old the pocket bag size was clearly designed for a Motorola Razer.

I've got up to £500 (ish) to spend and I want something that will last another fifteen to twenty years.

Needs to be a classic black biker.

Any suggestions?

Does anyone else feel a bit awkward wearing their biker?

I’ve lost count of the times I’ve put mine on, then taken it straight off again. It’s weird, I’ll normally wear anything. Even dungarees, fgs, and I’m 48.

But I get biker-shyness.

I did go through a long period of leaving it in the wardrobe but now layering it with a trench or a quilt feels right again

I have an allsaints cargo, all saints leather jackets look amazing but they are quite thick and heavy, and can feel a bit unwieldy.

I have one from mint velvet which is much lighter to wear which I tend to reach for, it has fur on the collar though so it’s not great for spring/summer 🤓

Also have a distressed Rick Owens which is amazing to wear and is really comfortable to wear

I actually had a faux leather from top shop which was perfect in size and weight, 10 years old and still looked good, gave it away, wish I hadn’t!

I get this. I just feel like I'm not the right personality for mine!

This is me too. I bought a beautiful Mint Velvet one in the sale last year. I think I’ve worn it twice. I just can’t figure out what to wear it with that I can pull off.
