Holiday wardrobe - how many items?

Going on holiday for one week and expecting it will be HOT.

It's 4 years since my last holiday and I remember coming home with lots of my clothes unworn.

20 years ago, it was a bikini for every day, numerous shorts and tops for daytime, and a different outfit every night. Possibly even 10 years ago.

Cannot be arsed with that anymore.

So, please tell me how much you take and help me plan, as I need to start deciding what I need to buy.

I think the ideal wardrobe for 1 week travel is:
Slippers
Shoes
2 pairs of shorts (or 1 shorts and 1 skirt)
Swim suit (or two)
Panama or cap
2 shirts
1 or 2 dresses
Jeans, sweater and sneakers

This is giving me ptsd (I hope that’s not offensive), thinking back to when we went on holiday to Spain 3 years ago and our luggage was lost after I’d put thought into 7 days of outfits… I ended up with a snakeskin bikini (only swimwear available) from the gift shop. My 5 year old ds had men’s xs swim shorts and my daughter wore swim nappies. Nothing else was available (we were remote) and it was a fucking nightmare. I had no make up and 2 outfits (packed in hand luggage). TUI never reimbursed us. I hate them.

I always keep a list of what I take, I can't believe I used to take double the amount of clothes that I take now, this year keeping it to 12 items of clothes not including beach wear I'm taking,
2 playsuits
One short black daytime strapless dress
For evening and can be used daytime if needed
Maxi animal print dress
Black slip midi dress
Black printed midi shirtdress that can be worn over the slipdress for as a different look
Printed midi dress
Plus brown short cardigan
Black short cardigan
Denim jacket
Thought I'd try one peice item so I'm taking less items.
