What's the best mascara that I can buy from boots, today?
DP's mum gave me a £25 voucher for boots for my bday yesterday and I want to use it to get some decent mascara but I'm fed up with being disappointed everytime I buy one

lancome supposed to be good

YSL good according to comnsumer tests

Personally I like MIss Sporty from superdrug for £2.99.

VictorianSqualor · 10/01/2008 11:50

I had a rimmel one once that I loved and I dont seem to be able to find the same one, so flip knows!

always like max factor great lash

fruittea · 10/01/2008 11:53

Really like the No 7 lengthening one - goes on very finely, no clumping

carmenelectra · 10/01/2008 11:55

I like the ones with the white primer at the end. Maybelline and Boujois do nice ones, no where near £25 tho!

MY friend had a lovely one when we went out a few wks ago. It was Clarins, but i dont know which one, im presuming theres a few! Think red tube, thin brush, her lashes looked lovely.

granarybeck · 10/01/2008 11:56

Lancome

tiredAli · 10/01/2008 12:09

I had a Boots No17 one because I was in a rush and wanted brownish black and it was the only one in our little boots. Best mascara I've ever had (and I've had lancome, maybelline, clarins, estee lauder!)

Twinkie1 · 10/01/2008 12:13

YSL came top on How to Look Good Naked - I always use Chanel or NARS - they really are the best!

nailpolish · 10/01/2008 12:15

ysl is the best
by far

Arghh, there isnt a consensus like I was hoping
Don't worry carmen I won't be spending £25 on one mascara! Don't think she had a clue what to buy me bless her, I normally have clothes shop vouchers for my bday, but as I'm hugely pg this time I thin she was trying to be tactful

Lancome my favourite, Hypnose or L'Extreme

carmenelectra · 10/01/2008 12:29

VS lol at the voucher then! I would maybe buy mascara for under a tenner then and also buy, blusher, lippy and eyshadow!!

Twinkie1 · 10/01/2008 12:32

Spend the voucher on something for the baby and then go and spend 25 quid on eyeslipsface.com and you will get makeup galore!

incy · 10/01/2008 12:59

Agree YSL Faux Cils is lovely - probably use up most of your voucher and not all Boots have YSL.

For a cheaper option Max Factor masterpiece mascara is excellent.

SomeLikeItHot · 10/01/2008 13:12

The boujois one with the white end and black end is really good...

welshmum · 10/01/2008 13:13

YSL changed my life

smugmumofboys · 10/01/2008 13:15

Diorshow is fab but I'm not sure Boots stock it. The Stay Perfect (No 7) is really good and about a tenner.

dee24 · 10/01/2008 13:21

I think miss sporty mascara is great for the money!

Max factor masterpiece mascara is fab, I use the waterproof one and wouldn't be without.

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/01/2008 13:22

I like the M,aybelline one with the green bendy brush - completely forgotten what it's called... and the one with the green and pink packaging...

VictorianSqualor · 10/01/2008 13:24

Ok, looking for the ones with the most answers it seems to be either max factor masterpiece or YSL depending on whether boots stock it and how much I want to spend.

carmenelectra · 10/01/2008 13:27

oh yeah i use that Maybelline green and pink tube, nice for everyday. And that balck and white tubed Boujois too!

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/01/2008 13:28

I had a Mavala one once for contact lens wearers/sensitive eyes...non waterproof, very nice conditioning mascara, not all dry and cloggy.
