What trousers are in right now for curves?

What trousers are in right now that flatter a curvy body shape? I'm 5'6 and a size 12 hourglass shape.

I've always found fitted styles more flattering on my body shape, anything loose and flowing just hides my curves and makes me look shorter and bigger than I am. But skinnies and slim fit trousers are feeling quite dated and I haven't updated my style in ages.

What trousers can I wear that'll flatter my shape?

If you pair high waisted wide trousers or mannish trousers with a snug top, it balanced out and prevents you looking blocky. You need to show your waist to show that you aren't big

What ive noticed is people will say that whatever is in fashion at the moment 'is best for curves'.
I tend to think healthy curves, as yours surely are, look much nicer in more form fitting yet comfy clothes, so the softer skinny jeans and leggins make curves look lovely - unlike my own willowy bod, I always look like scrawny in them.

But since skinnies are out, and wide legs are in, most people will say they look best with curves. But I disagree! I think they make lofty models look square, even. Wide legs that flow, yeh, but stiff denim looks far too boxy to me regardless whether it is having a fashion moment.

I have really got interested in Kibbe body types, you can look them up on reddit if interested. I discovered why I always look drowned and untidy in the clothes I tend to love (this sucks), but you have to strike a balance, as life is short and who cares? Grin

I am also another who doesn't like high waists, and like anything else, even they will be 'dated' soon.
And remember, 'dated' is a component of capitalism to urge you to buy more and change everything in your wardrobe to suit a new silhouette. Have fin with clothes, but if you really do suit more fitted stuff, I would go with that and just try to make it more current.

fun not fin, even!

I am quite similar to you OP - 5'5 and size 10/12 hourglass. I wore mom jeans yesterday with a loose jumper and sonnies today with a more fitted jumper and my DH commented on how much more flattering the skinnies were - and he NEVER notices what I am wearing!!
