How long might you expect a tube of 50ml moisturiser to last?

That’s it, really. Might seem like a silly question but I ask because I keep getting reminders from Boots saying “Is it time to reorder?” and I’m only half way through the 50ml pot.

I used to go through a lot of cream but have tried to cut down a bit, due to cost.

Thanks

It depends on its consistency and how often/how much you use.
I noticed recently that a Body Shop 50ml vitamin E cream (used twice a day) only lasted me about 4 weeks. (I actually checked to see if it was a smaller size, as it's sometimes difficult to see with packaging size) but it wasn't. The N7 one I've got now, I've already been using morning and night for 2 weeks and it still looks full.

I use a 30ml tube which usually lasts me up to about 20 days. It’s a light moisturiser and I use plenty, twice a day, face and neck

I’ve got a No7 night cream which I use obviously, just at night. I’ve had it six weeks and I’m halfway through. I put it on and always (when it’s absorbed to touch) I top it with Aveeno Colloidal Oats Cream which, I’ve used for donkey’s years and in my mind, it “seals in” whatever’s underneath whilst I’ve got my head buried in the pillow! 😊 Maybe, I'm just not using enough? The cream was £34 so, I'm not slapping it on to find most of it ends up on the bedding.

if Im to spend £34 on a night cream every 5/6 weeks, I’ll be going back to my Nivea!

Mine I use once a day and lasts me 4-5 months. Maybe I don't put enough on??

seensome · 23/04/2022 09:06

Mine lasts about 5 months but I use a separate night cream.

I use a LRP moisturiser each morning, a 40ml tube lasts a couple of months.

TheRussianDoll · 23/04/2022 09:45

Oh, maybe I ought to return to a cheaper product and use more of it?

My skin often feels parched which is why I put the Aveeno on top. If I used the amount of day cream (again, No7. Protect and Perfect) alone that makes my skin feel moisturised and “plumped” I’d be going through a pot a month. Obviously, it’s not just face, it’s neck/décolleté also.

Back to Nivea then!

I bought a 50ml pot of Kiehls moisturiser on the 15th February and it looks at least three quarters full even though I use it virtually every day. I also use different products at night though, and I'm sparing with it because it's expensive.

I use Estée Lauder day wear as a face cream (twice a day) and I get about three to four months out of the 50ml pot. I’ve often thought I’m not putting enough on but if I use more it sits on my face. The amount I use seems to be perfect. I use something different for my neck though (basically ploughing through all the creams that have come in a GWP).
