Bra size revelation! Just found out....after years ..can't be the only one!

I've just discovered at an ancient age, well over 40...that bra sizes do not work the way you think. Always had very small barely there boobs like 34A or 36A .(fried eggs). got tiny bit plumper over whole body last few years...(as got older as you do)

So now need different bra. Little tiny bit bigger. The way you size up in Bras isn't what I've been trying since 15 years old. You dont go from 34A to 34B or 34B to 36B as you would think. The B size cup is not the same for 34 as it is for 36!!
The cup size varies! So to keep cup.size EXACTLY the same ( say if bra is only little too tight) you need to go up 1 letter. So you go from 34B to 36C , to keep the same cup. Its totally odd but it works and now I have a bra that fits.

I used to try going up a size, it would dig in and not fit at all so I'd stay with old size. No you must change cup size.

Feel stupid didn't know this before but also very comfy in new bra. Which is a 32D <mind blown> even though my actual boobs are same size really as they were when wore a 34A or 34B. It just fits much better. Very strange. I cannot believe I am 32D size when whole life have worn A and B cup...and I'm only tiny bit plumper ( mostly around tummy and torso not boots at all sadly)

Anyway just wanted to share as I think it's not that well know.

I didn't realise this either until I had my fried eggs enlarged. It was a revelation!!! 🤣

That's not right! Sorry. Although what you're wearing doesnt match your description, so I think you've just described it incorrectly.
Cups arent the same. But a 34c cup will be similar to a 32d or a 30e. It goes down in the back, up in the cup.

Most people go up in the back size when they put on weight, when really they should be checking the cup size. Measure under your boobs very, very tightly and that's what back size you will likely need.

Anyone confused, look at boob or bust on Facebook.

But I'm glad for you your new bra fits better!

@anon2022anon yes I've not described it properly; you are right. I just was always keeping cup size same not realising it relates to band size and is not totally separate.
Anyway I'm am very happy now, much better!

I did know this - and am still a 38B!

I@m confused reading your post OP!

The way it works if this is what you mean is that a 32C is the same cup size as 30D. Or a 34B is the same as a 32C. Or a 36D is the same cup size as a 34C.

I used to buy A or B cups in a 34 back.

I was told by an asst in a small lingerie shop that there was no way I was a 34 back. (She looked at me fully clothed.)

I measured and I am a 29 back, but go to a 30 for comfort and even a 32 depending on the brand. I am also wearing mainly D cups.
