What shoes with 'Mom jeans'

Having overcome my antipathy for the term 'mom Jean', tried some (M&S, 12S) and discovered they are a perfect fit for a short pear shaped person (no baggy waist! No tight thighs!), I've bought a couple of pairs (black and blue, washed but not distressed). But now I'm not sure I've any shoes that will look right with them, other than summer flip flops.

The photos on the website look like mostly canvas low tops or Birkenstock type sandals... which I don't have and aren't great for rainy weather.

I have a bit of a problem finding shoes as my feet are quite wide and one of my toe joints is enlarged (bad idea to drop a boat on it). So I can't really buy online. I had a quick look in M&S and clarks (the only shops available in the out of town site I was at) and didn't spot anything that looked right.

Any ideas please?

Well, I fear I've no idea what sort of tops are 'of the moment', but on the bright side I hate fitted T shirts so there's a bullet dodged.Grin

Many thanks to all of you. Thanks

How about brogues? I wear mine with Converse as well. In the 80s the mom jean was the only type that would fit my (then) unfashionable shape and I wore with high heels 😬

So... I had a few minutes in town while DH was doing something else and nipped into Office as I know they do some Timberlands. No boat shoes or similar, unfortunately. I was persuaded to try on some white leather Vans ... unexpectedly comfortable. Well, no shoe looks good with a pained expression so I was sold. I fear the effect is more 'senior American tourist' than stylish though.Grin

Converse or any white trainers with mine, and Birkenstocks too.

I think mine are mum jeans.
I roll the bottoms of the legs up a couple of inches and wear them with those white leather trainers from Clarks, with flesh coloured footsies so that my ankles are exposed.
Because the trainers are leather they're good for walking through puddles.

i just can’t make mom jeans work with winter footwear!

I live in a warmer climate so footwear is easier for me. In the deep dark recesses of my closet I found a pair of light pink trainers (or sneakers as we call them in the US) that I wore with mom jeans the last time they were in fashion. So now I have a full-on 90s vibe going. The 2022 iteration on me is truly a "senior American tourist" look, but then again, if the shoe fits . . . .

The choice of shoes with sharp toes and elegant stilettos is justified because such shoes help to give a feminine look.

I'm so glad I'm completely uninterested in a 'feminine look' when wearing jeans, Neither sharp toes not stilettos are remotely compatible with my feet. 😂

I wear trainer's or I wear Chelsea boots and roll them up slightly so they're about an inch higher than my boots.

Look at Rieker for shoes and boots, they're a good with usually. I wear combat boots or chelsea boots with my mom jeans

Chunky boots with woolly socks, jeans rolled up to hit the top of the boot. I love mom jeans.
