Which shops to visit at Westfield White City? Need new clothes and style after weight loss.

After years of being obese I have recently lost some weight and gone from a size 18 to 14. I'm in my mid forties and currently live in jeans, T-shirts and trainers, and no makeup. I desperately need a style makeover and all of my current clothes are now too big and baggy.

My teenage daughter has asked for a day out with her friends at Westfield White City tomorrow. I'll travel into London with them on the train but will have the afternoon to myself in the shopping centre. We've never been before.

Which shops should I visit? And what should I buy? My budget is around £200 for tomorrow but I'll add to this over the next few weeks. I still have a larger bust and tummy that I'm a bit self conscious about so prefer looser tops or something to cover up like a shirt or poncho. I tend to wear blue or black jeans or linen trousers with a plain white or black t-shirt and have gone for comfort over style in the past but am ready to be a little braver now!

Ooh, I’m very familiar with this Westfield. It’s a really good layout and unlike the one in Stratford so doesn’t feel too overwhelmingly crowded and big.
Since the new extension the layout is like a lolly shape with John Lewis being on the bottom end of the stick and you entering from the train on the top corner of the lolly.

My favourite shop at the moment is Cos for all the natural fabrics and loose cuts. This is on the ground floor side of lolly on the way to M&S.

The Zara is very big and ex the queues doesn’t feel to crowded and this is 1st floor top of lolly. Uniqlo is good value for basics and is a few shops on from Zara heading clockwise.
Most other fast fashion is on the lolly stick inc a load of brands I’d never heard of until recently.
Scotch and Soda (under Uniqlo ish) has lovely stuff but your £200 won’t go far.
With the exception of JL being a bit isolated on the end of the lolly stick you don’t HAVE to plot a route as there is a central atrium that allows you to cut back/across

I actually don’t rate Westfield. There are a few high end shops then jo, M&S, next and the usual chains. M&S have some nice dresses in so I’d go there and John less. Could you book a stylist appointment at jl?

Agree about Westfield being poor. Perhaps look and see what else is available nearby.

There’s nearly every chain you can think of. Big M&S, Next, H&M, John Lewis. Primark. Even a husk of a House of Fraser. Kind of depends how much you want to get for £200…Gets pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon.

I like Mango at the moment.

Sorry you said tomorrow, hopefully slightly less busy!

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the look of Cos and Mango and haven't been there before, will also put Zara and Uniqlo on the list. I just tried to book a stylist at John Lewis but there are no slots left for tomorrow unfortunately. I'll have a look round there and also House of Fraser though.

I'm hoping to get maybe 3 things for my £200, perhaps a dress/ jumpsuit, trousers and a top?
