Best gel polish brands for home gel nails

I have the mylee lamp which came with some polish as well as base/top coat. I also have some beetle polishes which are pretty lurid but mainly for Dd1.

I find both quite thick which in turn is making the gels thick. I then catch an edge, they chip and then......I PEEL!

My poor nails are not happy.

I appreciate a lot of this is in the application but any suggestions for good quality brands which may help?

There’s a reason why people pay for professionals to do this. You can give yourself an allergy if you aren’t doing gels properly. Personally I wouldn’t mess about with a lamp and gel if I didn’t know what I was doing. I’ve seen the long term damage to nails by people doing it at home.

Why not opt for regular nail polish. Easy to apply and remove.

I get mine from Amazon. I don’t usually pay more than £7, they’re often on offer.

I find that the Bluesky brand are a bit thinner and better quality. I’ve also got a few of the little white bottles of polishes. They’re cheaper and not as good quality but still tend to last me a week or so.

I also use a prep and wipe solution before and after. Are you using a base coat too?

Oh how do you give yourself an allergy doing your own nails? I have had bio sculpture done by pros different places and they never last more than 10 days. Always lift from the bottom and come clean off! These are proper pros I mean one woman has been doing bio sculpture for 20 years. She said could be anti b hand wash but I speak to people who little need to hammer and chisel biosculpture off!
