Help my style this dress denim I am plus sized and have a big tummy

Please help me style this denim dress if you are menopausal and for cooler weather please. I am plus sized and have a voluminous tummy and I am always hot so couldn’t stand a jacket but I was thinking more like a thin light weight waist coat in a cream or tan colour (if anyone knows where to find one in a 20
or could recommend something else?!? Just to take away all the plain blue fab fabric and minimise my overall size and tummy and maybe a tan belt which I have. I have this jacket but it would be double denim? And I seen this lady on instagram in the second photo who wears it well but I don’t have a leather jacket and if I did I couldn’t keep it on long. www.longtallsally.com/content/img/icons/social/share-icon.svg

No earth shattering ideas. But I like the dress. Personally I wouldn't do double denim with it.
A belt would be great if you're comfy with that. Trainers are the obvious footwear but ankle boots would work well. Or go full 70s revival and wear tan coloured knee height heeled boots. That would be. A good look o think

I know how you feel though, I’m hot sitting inside in a jacket so it would be taken off pretty quickly and would the dress look as good without the jacket over it?

I like your idea of a waistcoat but might it look a bit cowgirl?

Thanks all yes that lady is very stylish. I might be able to manage a belt if I could find one to fit and maybe go trainers. Any recommendations for ones that look good with a dress comfy for walking and with some arch support maybe white or leopard print? I love the look of some on Air and Grace but they are pricey and maybe I am too old being mid 50’s? Or the Fitflop ones?

I am mid fifties and love Air and Grace. They are super comfy!

The FabFatand40Plus Instagrammeer is 5ft 11 size 18.
Because of her height she can wear anything and look great in it. Not so a 5ft 4 size 16

I am 6ft but larger dress size than her.

I don't think you're too old, but if the price is an issue M&S have some comfy animal print trainers for £25 here.

I bought a fab pair from Sainsburys for around £10.

I have found long length gilets are my new favourite thing .
Can wear over a dress and keeps me cosy but also cool because on my arms I am only wearing a shirt /dress sleeves .
