Can linen trousers ever look good from the rear?

Im very slim and they make my arse look like a concrete block.
They are often way too long (average height).
And add years to my over all look.

It's a shame because i love them, and always wished i could wear them. They kook so easy and cool for the summer, and so laid back!

What's the alternative, a skirt?
Any big, baggy style trews have this effect on me, so when people say slim people suit anything i have to disagree!

Example, I never ever look like these photos, so annoying!

@ExConstance I'll arm wrestle you for a pair if they get to a sale. They're gorgeous!

Is cropped an option? I have a couple of pairs that are maybe three years old - one from Tesco very similar to these but only yellow and white - no elastic. And another quite similar from Pull & Bear in blue and cream but with a slight paper bag waist. They both seem to keep their shape well and don't make me/my arse look any weirder than any other trousers! No idea if similar ones are available in shops this year.

I also have a pair of full length brown ones from Warehouse that are really lovely. They have a proper waistband, no elastic, are quite roomy in the leg but not shapeless, and somehow seem to hang just right. I wish I'd bought ten pairs.

Every other pair of linen trousers I've ever tried on have been disastrous.

They never look good from the front either let’s face it

I’ve got a couple of tapered linen trousers from Next. (petite) One is a fixed waist and one has an elastic panel at the sides of the waist. this season) Both can be rolled up. I never buy the wide leg ones. Both really comfy

LadyHelenaJustina · 01/04/2022 11:33

I wear them because I hope that when people look at the saggy rear end, they will assume it’s because of the linen trousers.

Bertiebiscuit · 03/04/2022 10:57

Probably not, as linen always crumples and bags, but so what, it's cool, comfortable and airy in summer, and more importantly I never have to look at my back view, not my problem - women have hips, and fleshy bottoms, get used to it world I say!

You don't have to have wide leg trousers just because they're linen, try straight or tapered instead
