My photo is on my profile

I have very thick hair & lots of it
It's very curly & I don't use products (well haven't managed more than 2 days post hair dresser in 39 years & it's not going to change)

So whet do I do with it btw it is about 4 inches longer atm, that photo was taken at easter & I already had it trimmed and cut( 4 inches off) - so it grows well & If I hate it, it doesn't really matter

Thanks for the spelling and the comments about the nursery

My hair can look kinda afro in the wrong weather - I am debating going very short

I wasn't complaining or being sarcastic - honest I like things to be right I would be a pendant if I could remember it all or learnt it in the first place

Mine is about 4 inches below my shoulders & driving me crazy

OMG you have MY hair!!! (Actually - are you me?! I wish I had CAT as you would laugh if I could send you a pic!!!) I had my hair very long for years - v easy to care for, but shapeless - then about five years had it cut off to chin length. Loved it - but amazing local hairdresser who 'got' my hair (few do) left the salon, and the next few haircuts were awwwwwful.

Not sure about you getting it v short. I did that when I was younger and it grew up and out rather than in any recognisable style. It was unfeasibly bushy. (Also had a very short bob at one point and did in fact get an 'afro' comment - in the street!!! )

Just had it cut last week and love it - not mega-short, just cut by someone who understands thick wavy hair. Oh, and I have GHDs for hair emergency days. Can't use them every day (2 year old DD so no time) but when I do I love the result... completely different texture hair!

Sorry - have rambled, but still in shock at finding my hair twin!!!

P.S. Hair now about 2in above shoulders btw.

KatyMac · 05/01/2008 21:26

I always thought you put the punctuation outside the brackets (so hadn't considered if only the brakets were the question - had I?).

I know I should get it cut - I am being a wuss

How short?

My brothers is worse - he looks mixed race or Greek (very big nose, not like mine)

I hate going out in the rain

Have sent an (oldish) pic. Am trying to find a more recent one with specs...

KatyMac · 05/01/2008 21:46

That could be me

Do you have an odd bendy bit at the front - it can look like a marcel wave

OP posts:
Verso · 05/01/2008 21:49

ooh yes but most of my bendy bits are underneath (cue Frankie Howerd voice at this point). I have some bits of hair that are really ringletty underneath the mass. Found another oldish one that shows the texture a bit...

But can't find a new one with glasses! Drat!

KatyMac · 05/01/2008 22:01

My hairdresser is pretty good - but we disagree about products - I really can't be arsed

Any more suggestions or styles?

have very thick curly hair which I keep long as it grows outwards and upwards if shorter but I am forever aware |I cannot have this hair when I am older. i did see a woman with hair like mine short at the back and long at the front which looked fab on her.

I can see what your hairdresser means about products I must must must put product in my hair otherwise I look like a womble. I have a friend with seriuosly frizzy hair who never used product until recently. When I saw her I couldnt believe it as she looked ten years younger without the frizz.

All I do is wash and when towel dry out in product and let it dry neaturally ..no hassle really. Pls rethink the products

KatyMac · 06/01/2008 20:22

I hate that sticky or crispy feeling you get

What do you use & how often do you wash your hair?

OP posts:
widgypog · 06/01/2008 20:57

I tend to wash mine at night and sleep on it..A it isnt so big and B if it goes a little crsipy it is gone by morning.
I use a VO5 mousse for everyday but KERASTESE elastocurl for special/ weekends. My friend had the same problem as she hated the crispy but she uses CURLS ROCK and hers def isnt crispy. I am going to try it next time mine runs out.

I wash my hair every 2 days and dont always use conditioner . I find Aussie shampoo good for frizz

KatyMac · 06/01/2008 20:59

I use the Aussie stuff for normal hair & wash every 5 or 6 days - if I wash anymore it stands on air
