I’m 50 with highlighted hair. Using Aussie conditioner mask but it’s really dry and falling out in shower and when I brush it. Any tips for a conditioner/treatment/supplement that might help please?

Check your iron and b12 levels before you look to sink loads of money into products

Also, get your thyroid checked Smile

Are you menopausal?

jeaux90 · 17/03/2022 14:29

I was 48 and having the same issue about the time I was hitting menopause.

So I grew my colour out and went on HRT. My hair turned out kind of cool, striped grey and white and it's in great condition.

Would you consider just letting it grow out? See what it's like?

Oh and I also hate Lush but the American cream conditioner was great whilst my hair was in a bad way.

Get your thyroid tested and get on HRT.

I’ve got the same issue so I’ve just started using caffeine shampoo as it’s supposed to help. Too early to tell if it works yet, but it’s worth a go.

I've recently tried these two conditioners and a bar shampoo and hair seems better for them.

I've also started only shampooing every other wash and just rinsing with water then conditioning only on other days. My hair seems to really prefer that. I think it's fairly common with age - the amount of hair in our shower trap is unbelievable!

I started taking collagen capsules and found that hair shedding improved a lot.

Iron levels
Thyroid
Perimenopause

Take biotin too, it really helps.

callmeblondie · 21/03/2022 08:27

Perimenopause can cause that. It will rectify itself post menopause.
