How many days before going on holiday do you get a manicure/pedicure?

Do you always go the day before travel or will a couple of days before be fine?

Struggling for time day before travelling abroad. Travelling on a Wed, do you think Saturday for nails will still be fine?

@MsMiaWallace

Daft question. Do you get the gel on your toes removed as you would your fingers or do you just let it grow out?
@MsMiaWallace - depends - I either get it removed or let it grow out.

But recently I’ve bought on eBay the foils and also cuticle pusher so I can remove this myself.

It depends if you’d like another gel pedicure when it starts to grow out or as someone says you can paint another colour over the top for a change.

I only have pedicures in the summer (unless I’m going out out) so I usually leave it 5 or 6 weeks at a time, then have it removed and redone. That usually takes me right through to the end of bare toes weather...

And I’ve just seen the shoes are green as well...

Uhm...wrong thread!

Joyfulflowers · 17/03/2022 15:33

I generally remove the gels myself. Fingers when regrowth is too obvious or looking tatty so about 2 weeks or just over.

Toenails last so much longer, have been known to last about 8 weeks and then again, remove myself

Oh and I'll get them done as near as possible to departure date

I find that sand dulls a gel pedi so you might want to take a clear top coat to make it shiny again if you’re going somewhere with sandy beaches!

Lyricallie · 17/03/2022 15:39

Yea I've booked in for the Thursday and we leave on the Saturday 😊

Nnique · 17/03/2022 15:41

You can also wipe it with alcohol to bring back the shine. It’ll be dust from the sand, I expect.

Same day or day before. If the hotel/resort have a salon I'd do the pedicure there if short of time.
