Definitely NOT frilly!!
Metallic gold lace or tulle/gossamer perhaps to wear with these vintage clumpy shoes.
Any ideas please?

@Snooks1971 Oh that's such a shame. The perfect ankle socks are not easy to find. Try Selfridges and Browns too. I haven't looked for a while but I have found some gems from both in the past.

If you have found an image of a sock you like, put the image into a google image search and it’ll come up with similar products
