Charlotte Tilbury Make up Hygiene Seal

Curious to opinions on this

My mum bought me a Charlotte Tilburry lip gloss product (lip luxe). She was warned by the sales assistant NOT to open it if there was a chance I'd want to exchange for a different colour. I didn't open it and she didn't open it. No hygiene sticker on it.

I knew immediately that I would return as it was bright red. Brought it to the store and the assistant opened the product and drew the doe foot out. Closed the product and without any discussion with me went to discuss if she could give me a return with her colleague.

Colleague says no as there was a tiny bit of product on the "stick" part. She came back and said no return possible as the product HAD been opened. I said "but did you not cause that smear by opening and closing the product yourself?" She said the smear was there when she drew it out initially. No refund possible and now I don't know if my mum has been sold a product that was itself already opened.

Is this normal behaviour from Charlotte Tilbury sales people - why oh why do they not have a hygiene seal on their products!

Am still annoyed with the whole experience!

In my experience Charlotte Tilbury do not excel in customer service. Once bought a lipstick online which was faulty, they are absolutely not interested in you once they’ve got your money.

Thanks - I didn't realise their customer service was poor - I've had a great experience online but this was in store at a concession. I won't be buying from them again as a result.

I've had no problems when returning stuff to them.
