Where would you go for a red carpet worthy dress?

I’m getting married this summer and I REALLY don’t want to wear white/ivory/cream/pastel. I want a beautiful dress, but something red carpet/black tie fancy in a jewel tone or metallic. Ideally something I might conceivably wear again.

This is surprisingly hard to find! So, if you’re a person who owns or wears this sort of thing, where would you go?

Online, London or the Home Counties, ideally. And I’d like keep it under £2K if humanly possible (which seems an insane amount to spend on a dress to me, but I’ve been assured I can’t go much lower).

Thank you!

Get yourself on Matches or Net a Porter. You'll be spoilt for choice!

Net a Porter, Outnet or get one custom made (I got mine made as I wanted a non-white/non traditional dress).

Okay! All the online sources noted. I’ll have a look, thanks!

@Amelion how did you go about getting a dress custom made?

@Hausa I went to a local dressmaker who specialises in making wedding and similar dresses (bridesmaid, red carpet dresses etc). I worked with her to source the fabric and design the dress. I ended up with something amazing and unique. I knew her from having a bridesmaid dress altered but if you search online you should find someone.

The vampires wife falconetti dress is beautiful.

I'd start by looking at The Outnet – they often have some glorious full-length dresses at a hefty discount including some amazing Valentino dresses at present.

I know this doesn't fit the brief as it's definitely a wedding dress but it's so gorgeous!

I would rent a ridiculous designer dress for the ceremony and then get something for the reception that's a little more liveable and I have to be less precious about - Wolf & Badger, Harvey Nichols, Selfridge's, Net a Porter etc.
