Cos - what do we all think?

What do we all think of cos? Who is it aimed at?

For my taste it's a bit stark and utilitarian looking but I believe it's decent quality and certainly seems popular!

Milomonster · 12/03/2022 21:56

They do the most beautiful box pleat shirts.

SarahWoodruff · 12/03/2022 22:02

I agree with the previous poster who said it has declined a bit recently - the clothes have definitely become less quirky and the interesting prints and shapes are less common. Possibly a result of oversized clothes being more popular generally - but whatever the reason, Cos has lost some of its distinctive style.

Hippolyte · 12/03/2022 22:06

I like the fabric and design but definitely designed for tall scandi types and not good on petites like me!

Milomonster · 12/03/2022 22:07

@highfashion you have just asked the “why do we think” question re Other Stories. Are you a fashion journo?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/03/2022 22:10

I love Cos, particularly knitwear, and their trousers tend to fit me well too. I’m also a big fan of Arket and &OtherStories, which I think are part of the same parent group.

Love it, but yes, you have to try everything on.

They always have clothes in beautiful and interesting colours, different to what you see elsewhere.

Smellyporcupine · 12/03/2022 22:24

I've never shopped there, but I just had a look and like a lot of it. I'm 40. But I am very curvy with swimmers shoulders and I struggle with oversized making me look the smartest giant in town ( if you know the kids book 😉)!. I used to buy everything fitted pre kids, but now the mum tum doesn't work with that. I think I just need to go out in the real world and try on things but that not realistic with a toddler in tow.

Fairislefandango · 12/03/2022 22:50

I've never bought or tried on any of their clothes. I'm really not a fan of boxy or shapeless clothes though - I am pretty large of boob and things like that hang off my chest and make me look like a marquee. I quite like some of the less daft-looking pieces on the tall, skinny models though.

highfashion · 12/03/2022 22:52

No I'm definitely not a fashion journo!! I'm just looking at new shops, I was shopping in person on Friday (John Lewis, cos, other stories) and trying to work out where's best for me now and who certain stores are aimed at etc...

My SIL loves it. I like odd bits like a coat I got from there

Ordered a skirt recently a red printed pleated skirt made me look awful.

Notarealmum · 13/03/2022 08:49

I used to love it but in recent years it’s seemed quite boring and samey.

lindyloo57 · 13/03/2022 11:37

I only own one black dress from cos, that I got on ebay, it hangs beautifully much better better quality than most other dresses i have from m&s, John lewis ( own brand) , zara, new look, h&m, I will look to buy more.

MapleMay11 · 13/03/2022 11:52

I think it's awful. No idea who it's aimed at but I mostly see it being worn by older women in the area where I live.

EllaPaella · 13/03/2022 13:03

Ah back to the ageism again.. didn't take long.
