Piercings- same on both sides

When I was a teen, back in the mists of time, it was the thing not to have symmetrical ear piercings. So I had 3 lobe piercings on the left and 2 on the right.

As an adult I’ve only really worn earrings in the first holes and the others nearly closed up. However, I love pretty piercings and yesterday decided to have my helix done on the left and to start wearing tiny studs in all the others.

So now I have helix and 3 lobes on the left and 2 lobes on the right.

DD tells me that this is unusual these days and generally people get the same on both sides. She’s planning a second lobe piercing and will do the same on each ear.

Obviously it’s personal taste but I just wondered what other people did, if you’re someone with more than just one lobe done each side. If it makes a difference, I’m not a very alternative person in my look overall.

@psuedocream3

Curated earrings are on trend currently, I have three lobe peircings in each ear, one daith and one helix in one ear. I will be getting a conch piercing, and probably flat helix and forward helix in the other.
Frantically googling exactly what they all are in case I fancy some of them 😂

I have two flats, my conch and tragus plus two lobes on one side and one lobe on the other.

I hate symmetrical piercings, it is absolutely not what you do if you want to look effortless.

I have 3 in 1 lobe and 1 in the other. Got one of the holes repierced as it had closed up

mid-40s and I have three on one lobe and two on the other. Never have all five with earrings at the same time, usually just the bottom one on each side and perhaps the third one if I remember.

Ha! Me too
I was saying to DH yesterday If I got that done (points to it of ear) is that a Forward Helix ?

Looked up and yes it is !
Didn't know about Flat Helix
Also looked up Rook and Snug but not sure my ears are the right shape .

Late 30s and have 3 in each lobe and helix on one side. I only had 2 in each lobe until a couple of years ago (both done before I was young) and then got the additional 3.

I think it would look odd on me to have a helix on the other side in the same place; once you get beyond the lobes I think that asymmetry is more pleasing to my eye. Not sure why though!

Eloise666 · 12/03/2022 09:34

Before when I was young, not as a foetus 😂

I’ve got 4 on one side (1 at the top, not quite as far forward as forward helix) & only 2 on the other.
I tend to wear my top one and 2 lobe earrings on one side and just a single earring in the other.

MakeUsACuppa · 12/03/2022 17:30

late 40s and three studs in the right lobe and one in the left, currently contemplating another one in the right but fancying one near the top. Off to Google Grin

I'm 40 and I have 3 lobe piercings each side, but my cartilage ones are all uneven. I have 2 lower helix, flat and daith on one side and helix and tragus on the other. So far! Planning a rook and conch on the side with tragus, and triple forward helix on the one with the daith.

The styling I've seen on instagram and r/piercing tends to be uneven.

Grapewrath · 12/03/2022 18:30

I have 6 in one and 4 in the other. Both sides have 3 lobes, left have Tragus and double helix. Right has helix from when I was 12.
I’m early 40s.
I find as I get older they’re harder to heal- my lest helix was 2 years ago and it took a yesr to settle. I have no desire to even them up on that basis
