Getting annoyed with shops / sites only offering discounts to NEW customers, not rewarding their repeat customers!

for example, Fitflop, they had a 15% off for new customers and I put in the code and it seemed to have worked but at the last second charged me the full amount. I'm annoyed with myself for not moving money out of my current account so that it wouldn't have gone through if the discount wasn't applied. I've bought a good few pairs of runners and also sandals from them over the years.

And as for hush with that recommend a friend nonsense. FGS, reward your customers who are coming back to you. I bought two lovely shirts from Hush a few weeks ago, they're lovely, and I'd like a few more bits from Hush but I'm getting emails about recommending a friend to them. I'm never going to do that. That's just weird.

Whatever happened to reward customers' loyalty??

That's why I have multiple email addresses and sign up as a new customer.

I totally agree. Sometimes it works if you unsubscribe and then sign up again. Which wouldnt be necessary if they had better rewards and sales for loyal customers.

Ah good tip re unsubscring

Just emailed fitflop to complain that as an existing loyal customer I cannot get a discount code but a new customer can. I await their reply............

I have multiple email addresses too… I find Cos, Arket and &OS allow you to use their new customer codes repeatedly (without changing email).

Greyhare · 14/03/2022 14:16

Surely though they would just put all the prices up by 15% to make you feel like you are getting a bargain as a return shopper.

Lurking9to5 · 14/03/2022 18:58

Well I guess that's what Boden do. I still think it's better to reward customers for returning them than to have 'new customer' codes that don't work for existing customers. That really exasperates me.
I wonder if fitflop will reply to me.

What pisses me off is when you have just done your first order (and spent a lot thanks!) then you get a pop up sign to save you have money off your next order!

SoLongFurlough · 15/03/2022 18:18

And that Hush refer a friend thing never works anyway

Lurking9to5 · 15/03/2022 20:47

I know! Total scam.

I understand why they do it but I agree it wouldn't hurt them to throw out a discount for existing customers every now and again.

Orangeslemon · 15/03/2022 22:30

I agree. I tend to use my work email to get new customer discounts. Cos actually sent me a code for being a repeat customer a few weeks ago and it was 15% off vs the 10% off they offer new customers, so that was a pleasant surprise!

Lurking9to5 · 16/03/2022 07:23

Fitflop's reply only demonstrated that they didn't read my email. It said the code didn't work because it's for new customers.

🙄
