Please help - I am at my wits end with my messy hair.

What the hell is wrong with it? I have very thick, medium length curly brown hair. It has never been worse and I'm at my wits end. It's either greasy, frizzy (sometimes both at the same time) or very dry and limp with no volume. What is wrong with it? I am having to wash it everyday because it gets greasy so quickly and looks like a puff ball. Yesterday I washed it and later it was terrible. Greasy and so dry at the same time. Please help! This is a nightmare and is so embarrassing. I usually use Head and Shoulders shampoo, Lidl peppermint conditioner but it varies. I also use OGX charcoal shampoo once or twice a week to try and give it a proper cleanse and it still has this problem. I rinse it for a good 5 minutes every time in case this is a problem of build up, not working. Coin size, never rub conditioner into the roots, the works. This is infuriating and mortifying. Please help me!

I would avoid Head and Shoulders, can you afford a higher end shampoo? My curly friend likes BriGeo
Perhaps a mask would help to reset and hydrate?

You have my sympathy. I have thick curly hair too and while it can be great when it's wrong it's really wrong!

Suggestions:

Do you need to use a medicated shampoo like H&S? It always makes my hair very harsh so I only use it once a blue moon if I have dandruff. Why not try a slightly more upmarket shampoo and conditioner fir yoyr hair type? Doesn't have to be £££ but there's a reason why we're not washing our hair in Fairy Liquid. I use Aussie shampoo and conditioner or a specialist one for curly hair.

You might need more conditioner if you have thick hair, I use a handful - and you could try combing it through with the conditioner in and then not combing afterwards- curly hair brushed when dry just goes haystack.

Try a serum or curly hold gel product on wet hair to manage the frizz. Comb or scrunch through when wet and then leave.

Plus I meant to say, if your hormones are out of whack or your on steroids then that'll affect your hair too

Try a product with no SLS in
