What to do when you can't wear a bra with a top?

I have a new top/bodysuit I like, however it's see through lace, will put a link to it below, but any suggestions how to go without a bra or suggestions instead of a bra? Many thanks

It's in wine if it helps!

I presume anyone considering a top like that would be able to go braless? Or have boobs that would be sufficiently supported by thise stick on things?

LizDoingTheCanCan · 03/03/2022 12:55

It depends on how big your boobs are!

(On a serious note, please don't buy from companies with atrocious human rights records.)

peboh · 03/03/2022 13:01

I personally can't buy tops that mean I can't wear bras. However if you have the boobs for it, you can buy nipple covers and tit tape to help it stay on.

Hedonism · 03/03/2022 13:03

When I can't wear a bra with a top I go and find a different top.

Hoppinggreen · 03/03/2022 13:04

Tape? And/or nipple covers?
However, if it’s support you need it’s possibly not the right top for you

ShirleyPhallus · 03/03/2022 13:05

I feel positively aged looking at that! You’ll catch a chill!

I’d try any combo of nude tit tape and nipple covers as long as there will be no flash photography where you are

Otherwise maybe an equally lacy bra and try and make it look part of the body

jowly · 03/03/2022 13:06

I'd need a nice cardi with that

FayCarew · 03/03/2022 13:07

wear something else

Stellaris22 · 03/03/2022 13:10

What's the occasion for wearing it? Personally I'd be incredibly uncomfortable wearing something like that as it's very revealing, but I can't see a way of wearing it unless you have the cleavage to support it.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 03/03/2022 13:21

I think that has a lining - look at the black and scroll it definitely looks like it has. Otherwise nipple covers.

olympicji · 03/03/2022 13:25

Thank you everyone, I'm really struggling for ideas hence why I ordered it, but I don't think without support I'm gonna be able to wear it! So basically I'm 9 months post birth of my second child, I need something for a meal and drinks on Saturday! I don't know what to go for, I'm a 14! If anyone has any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated? Thanks

I like it but it's the kind of top that can only be worn braless. If you need support - it isn't the right top. If you can wear without a bra - defo need nipple tape.

AuntFlorence · 03/03/2022 13:38

If I couldn't wear a bra with a top I would wear a different top

Henryscup · 03/03/2022 13:43

Is the issue the plunging neckline or see through-ness? I've worn see through tops with either a bra the same colour as the top or a nude bra. This is quite low at the front though, so you might need a super plunge bra or something like that.

You've got options. Backless is harder IMO.

AwkwardPaws27 · 03/03/2022 13:50

This might be a nice alternative?
Similar colour, lace, bodysuit, but I think you could wear a strapless bra under it for support?

What to do when you can't wear a bra with a top?
MargosKaftan · 03/03/2022 13:51

Oh dear - return it and buy something that you will be comfortable in. I can't wear tops without a bra unless they have some sort of inbuilt support, and so don't order them. That top would only be flattering on someone with large boobs that are gravity defying, it needs big boobs that stay in place, not big and sag without support, and also would not be flattering on a small chest.

Have another look for tops you like, and think "how can I wear a bra I already own with this?" Or order the bra at the same time.

ArabeI · 03/03/2022 13:54

A bra wouldn't work, though it needs something as it's see through.

I like the similar suggestion of the Karen Millen top a pp has linked to.

olympicji · 03/03/2022 14:05

Thank you! Oo that Karen Millen one is nice!

You surely wouldn't wear that if you needed a bra . I would have worn stuff like that in my 20's when I had the most amazing boobs! Still aren't bad but I wouldn't do it now !

MrsDThomas · 05/03/2022 07:18

I would never go with a bra.

If they’re really tiny i guess you can get away with it.

But im a 34DD so my babes need support.

StarlightLady · 05/03/2022 09:28

I think the only thing that you could wear with that top is lots of confidence. If you have more of that than most people, go for it. If not, it’s time to change the top l’m afraid. Maybe keep it for that special dinner party at home.

JellybabyGina87 · 05/03/2022 09:34

You can get those stick on bra cup things but I think they'd only be supportive enough for smaller breasted women like B cup and under.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 05/03/2022 09:34

“Say yes to underwear as outerwear”
“No”

Sweetandsaltycaroline · 05/03/2022 09:36

I have small boobs (A cup) and (I think) if standing up straight and maybe with stickers I could possible get away with that, but I feel if I sat down or leaned over, it would all go horribly wrong!🤣 so it would be a no from me.

Mojitomogul · 05/03/2022 09:41

For dinner and drinks his time of year I'd tend to go for a shirt dress with high ankle boots or stilettos - something like this www.axparis.com/collections/clothing/products/navy-animal-print-button-up-midi-dress
Love the Ax paris stuff for sizes 12/14, usually really flattering and easy to wear, some nice tops on there too to pair with leather trousers or leggings.
