Ankle boots for skinny ankles / narrow at the top

Netflixing · 26/02/2022 16:08

I have naturally skinny ankles (and legs) and have never been able to find a pair on ankle boots that don’t make my legs look like golf clubs. Now we are returning back to the office, I am attempting -again - to find a pair and I can wear with dresses or jeans. Has anyone any recommendations/ seen a pair that they can recommend? Or know if shops that do these?

I have bought a couple of my my knee high boots from Duo, but i am not overly keen on their current ankle boot styles. Thank you in advance!

Hi OP,

We thought we'd give this a bump for you to get some helpful responses.

Styles with laces can be tightened at the top.

Carvela Spike boots? I tend to wear chunky boots atm but save these for when I need to be dressier.

Same here I always buy with laces/buckles so they can be tightened haven’t bought any this year got some last year from M&S & Dune Clarke’s had some recently that looked a dupe of DM’s.

Lace up are the only style I've ever been able to buy to fit my skinny ankles/calves. I HATE the flappiness of other styles.

itsnotdeep · 27/02/2022 17:13

I don't know OP - all of my boots look like wellies on me. The only ones that fit me on the ankle are by By Far and they are really expensive, but lovely.

I'm not that keen on the boot/skirt look anyway really - could you wear loafers instead?

Fly London come up nice and slim on my ankles.

Luckingfovely · 27/02/2022 17:15

I was in a shopping centre yesterday and - also an owner of tiny ankles- was horrified at all the boots on sale - giant oversized clodhoppers! I'd look like a clown Grin

Very frustrating - I tend to buy slightly western style, but cut short so you can see the ankles. Let me have a look for some examples.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 27/02/2022 17:22

Oh for this problem, as the owner of a fine set of cankles all I can contribute is that I'm well jell!

stopthepain · 27/02/2022 17:24

Lace up boots are my friend. I am skinny and have skinny legs and ankles.

dameofdilemma · 27/02/2022 17:46

Chelsea boots from M&S. Or Geox Chelsea boots.
I’m a size 3 with short legs and small ankles. Both of these look fine with dresses.

Sock boots something like this www.prettylittlething.ie/shoes/boots/sock-boots.html ?

Netflixing · 07/03/2022 11:52

Thanks all… I had forgotten i had posted this! I have never thought about lace ups, so thanks for all of those suggestions..

@Luckingfovely if you can point me in the direction of the short western ones too, that would be fab. Duo currently have a couple of styles but k wasn’t sure. They also have some lace up ones too at the mo, but I don’t like the style

Thank you all! (Goes off to research lace ups…)

I’ve had success in Clark’s and Aldo. But they are few and far between. And the current fashion is for massive clumpy boots (DMs or DM inspired) so that’s what seems to be around at the moment unfortunately.
