Which bag is nicer?

I'm looking for a bag fro a city break abroad that's going to work from day to night. Would like a camel or beige colour. So far have come up with these two- which do you like best?

Open to other suggestions please! Looking to spend between £200-£300ish

So are saying it looks cheap because other people will know it's a copy and not an actual change, rather than anything particular about the bag that looks cheap?

R&B bags are good quality but it is a copy. I'm not a fan of Chanel handbags so I'm probably biased. Most people wouldn't notice. If you love it buy it.

Defintely the second coach one, the first one just looks a bit cheap and not very nice. The coach one looks much classier.

CambsAlways · 27/02/2022 15:22

First is better

CrimbleCrumble1 · 27/02/2022 15:33

It doesn’t look cheap, it’s more blingy than most mumsnetter’s taste. I always find R&B bags really to be made of really nice leather.

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2022 17:00

I'm also currently eyeing up a Polene (larger Numero Un in my case, in the pale blush colour), and have a few Coach which I like quality wise. I'm not sure of that particular one you've linked, but I think it's just a bit minimalist for my taste.

If you'd consider pre-owned it would be worth having a trawl through the handbag clinic or HEWI - you might get something quite nice in budget or close to it. this Anya Hindmarch is nice IMO

Kate spade has a few things on sale just now which might suit

Strathberry has a "private sale" - you just need to sign up for their newsletter - and there are a few which might work with your outfits

www.strathberry.com/collections/private-sale/products/trinity-mini-diamond-black-fire-w-fire-edge £276 in sale
www.strathberry.com/collections/private-sale/products/melville-baguette-black-diamond-w-fire-edge £297

this Marc Jacobs is nice

not very big but cute Chloe

different shape chloe

Neither of them as I don't like structured bags (and I don't like the colour of either of them).

EdenFlower · 27/02/2022 19:18

Thanks for great suggestions- I love Coccinelle bags and have a couple already, taking a closer look now Smile

The Lulu Guiness bag linked is so cute. I love the blush pink one.
Out of your 2 bags op I prefer the second one, I'm not into heavy hard wear on bags, not chains anyway.

DedalusBloom · 28/02/2022 07:33

I have the Lulu Guinness and you can pack a surprising amount in!

I prefer the R&B one, although it's too small for me and I don't like the colour. I like Coach generally as the quality is usually really good, but style wise I think that one is awful. The proportions are all off and deep flat structured bags are absolute arseholes for trying to find things in

Polène are lovely. Definitely considering them for my next bag.

Otherwise the Traveller by the Cambridge Satchel Co is a real workhorse, roomy but not too big.

PP is correct that the LG holds a lot. Mine is a burnt orange, I think the same type and I love it. Also have several metallic Coach bags which are fab.

DSGR · 28/02/2022 17:37

I have this from Longchamp, it’s extremely lovely leather and hard wearing. For me, it’s day to night due to the colours! www.longchamp.com/en/en/products/zipped-crossbody-bag-s-10138021548.html

I think I might have found the perfect bag! Please say you like it everyone Grin

It's lovely
One of each colour?🤣

DSGR · 28/02/2022 20:48

Really nice, red or camel for me!

IloveJudgeJudy · 28/02/2022 21:54

What an absolutely beautiful bag. I must look at it later in the year, nearer my birthday Smile. No idea which colour you should choose!

RMS0209 · 28/02/2022 21:55

I love the coach one! X

CuckooClocked · 28/02/2022 21:56

Love that bag but wonder if it would fit much in it?

Knittingnanny2 · 28/02/2022 22:02

Love the coach bag
I’ve got a few coach bags and also a Kate Spade . Have a look at her uk outlet stuff, very good savings

But which colour?

I'd go for the tan then it goes with anything/all seasons. It's lovely.

It comes in a bigger size too!!!

Coach

FantasticFebruary · 28/02/2022 22:20

@EdenFlower

The pale blue. Most suitable for an Easter Break, spring & summer.

Don't go bigger or it'll look like a hold-all.

BungleandGeorge · 28/02/2022 22:40

Neither. The coach one is quite frumpy to me, especially in that colour and the fake Chanel look is ubiquitous. You’re 3rd is better but I’d go for one of the ones linked by statisticallychallenged or totalwasteofpaper personally

I think the blue looks really dated personally. Surely the OP will get far more use out of one of the neutral colours.
