Holiday Time woohoo!!- what would you pack in 15kg

I'm out of practice and have not done this type of holiday since 2015! We only have 15kg (plus 10 kg hand luggage which seems ridiculous to me--Would rather just take a kanken ruck sack on the plane not full of clothes)

It's a week in canaries with extended family in April - mix of pool/ beach/ day trips / meandering around. (Tbh id rather just flop by the pool and play with the kids).

What clothes would you pack - looking for a range of ideas so I can pick up some tips!

You read my mind, I just booked a week to menorca in May, first hoilday since September 2019, we have the same luggage allowance, its with tui.

Flippydip · 21/02/2022 21:13

I've got a similar sounding holiday and hand luggage only! We get one bag and one cabin case. I'm planning to pack all similar/neutral colours so that everything goes together, and if I get desperate I can use the washing machine as we're staying in a villa.

Dresses are easy options, a complete outfit in one. If you're casual like me you can wear the dress you wore last evening to the beach or pool later in the holiday. I stick to a neutral colour palette with one accent colour (for me that's nearly always black, white, blue or khaki and orange)

For a week:
Travel in long trousers, trainers, top, cardi and light jacket.
One pair jeans and a skirt for evenings.
7 teeshirts, 5 smarter tees or shirts.
Two jumpers or Cardis or jackets.
Undies
2 swimming costumes.
Sandals for day, sandals for night.
Wash kit, makeup.
Electronics and chargers and adapter plus multiway plug strip. Book if no kindle.

I was thinking, 3/4 evening maxi dresses to be worn twice, 5 day dresses / playsuits, couple of cardigens/toppers incase its cool in the evening, and lots of jewellery to change it up.

I can never manage with 15kg, I have to upgrade to at least 20kg!

ItsSunnyOutside · 22/02/2022 12:44

For a week, I would pack the following..

5 fitted tshirts. {3 would be plain white as they go with everything, black for evening, 1 striped one}
3 vest tops
A pair of denim shorts
3 dresses {easy outfit}
1 floaty skirt
3 swimsuits/bikinis
1 cardi or jumper if it gets abit cooler in eve
1 white shirt {I think it always look very chic worn with a vest top and denim shorts!}
1 pair fancy trousers {incase weather alot cooler in eve}
underwear obvs
2 pairs of nice sandals

I would travel in converse or trainers, joggers, long sleeve jersey top, jumper over the top, lightweight jacket.

I am notorious for overpacking though and I change my outfit in eve, so there is probably too much there!

cherrypiepie · 22/02/2022 19:53

Ah this is great I take at least twice as much as all of these!

Thinking 3 dresses 3 skirts 2/3shorts 7 tops. (2 vest 2 shirt 3 t shirt)
2 swimwear and cover ups/flip flops
Then nightwear/ underwear etc
Day sandals /night sandals

Travel in jeans or leggings converse sweatshirt denim jacket scarf?

Not bothered about dressing up as my summer stuff is all Fairly nice for day/eve

Do I need jeans and cullotes too?

I would take warmer clothes tbh. Canaries average for April is between 16-22. So some days you might get 22 and sun, but I don’t think you will be in the outdoor pool much unless it’s heated well or lounging around it in bikinis as too cold surely? April is mild spring weather

Take some trousers, a few extra cardigans and a jacket.

MacaroniBaloney · 23/02/2022 12:29

I'd second the need for slightly warmer clothes. Which unfortunately are bulkier and heavier. But you'll need jacket jumper each evening as it's cooler.
Make sure you have the lightest suitcase so you can capitalise the 15kg as much as possible. Also consider buying toiletries once there as they weigh a ton.
