Footwear to go with mini dress and opaque tights

I'm planning to wear a floaty black mini dress for a party in a pub this weekend, and can only imagine wearing it with black opaque tights (bare legs not an option). Based on my existing shoes, I'm thinking of pairing it with black ankle boots - either chunky chelsea boots or a black glittery pair - or could even wear with black plimsoll/trainers. Style police, does that work?? Or do I need to go shopping?

If the dress is floaty... then I would lean towards the black glittery boots - depending on how they look. No trainers please. Ballet flats would also look nice, but depends on what height you want...
