If you own a Maria Tash earring/s - I want to hear from you!

I need your help please :) I think am finally going to take the plunge and order this for my conch piercing. I love it, but as I plan to wear it constantly i.e. very day and all night, I'm wondering whether it'll be ok to sleep in. So...if you have similar pieces....a)I'd like to hear from you to tell me how much you love it and b) do your wear it all day/night? If you want to post pics...fill your boots, I'd love to see! I have a Maria Tash 2mm scalloped diamond stud in at the mo, so this new one would be quite a change for me!

Oh what have you done… I LOVE these and was happily unaware of their existence … having a good ogle now..

Purplewithred · 18/02/2022 14:53

DD has a bit of a Maria Tash habit. She says:

A) love them it’s a super expensive addiction. There are cheaper companies (helix and conch) which do similar jewellery but cheaper so can get the cheapest one at Maria tash and swap out when healed

B) I never take mine out! They style them in a way that you probably won’t want to. I only change the lobes which I’m not wearing today. Conch is fun though because you can swap it into a ring if you want - not comfortable to sleep on

And FGS don’t sleep on them while they’re healing!!!

I don’t have a conch but do have MT pieces elsewhere in my ear and also nose. Also Astrid & Miyu who have similar barbell styles but less pricy! They are fine to sleep in (obviously if freshly pierced they are sore to lay on, but I do not notice them now). I never take them out.

The two circled in my pic are Maria Tash.

Thank you - I am loving the pics! I've had my conch for about 10 months now, its my favourite piercing. I had to remove my forward helix and 2 other helix as they just didn't heal well at all, so just as well my conch is my fave! I just love the way the light catches on it and you can see it front facing if you know what I mean.

I've ordered it! Knowing my luck I'll get an email to say its out of stock.

So next question...did you fit them yourself? If so...was it easy? I live in a small town in Cornwall so no Maria Tash stores to fit them for me!

Yes I put mine in myself now the piercings are healed. But it did take practice. Ear piercings (in my experience) are easier than my nose piercing! The amount of times I’ve almost sniffed up the back of my MT nose stud Envy not envy!

VivienneDelacroix · 18/02/2022 15:20

I never take my three Maria Tash piercings out. Very comfortable and obviously gorgeous.

mrsoverall2 · 18/02/2022 20:32

@EggbertHeartsTina where's the love circle/ stick type earring from? Love that! They look so simple but gorgeous

EggbertHeartsTina · 18/02/2022 20:46

Thank you @mrsoverall2! They are Oliver Bonas Smile

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 18/02/2022 21:42

I have a Maria Tash! It's cheaper to buy in the US, send to a onward ward shipping company like Stackry than to buy direct from Maria Tash as the shipping is extortionate for something that weighs literally nothing. I just have a boring 2mm gold stud in my 'tash rook', but I do love it. I searched high and low for something similar as I wanted the smallest I could get. Watch the size of the back though, I had to re-order a 9mm to fit my ear, it is in the thickest part of the ear though.

Trendytrousers · 18/02/2022 21:47

I got my third lobe pierced with a £290 triple diamond with MT. Did it three years ago and never take it out. It’s one of the ones which have a flat back and the diamond screws on the front so it’s painless sleeping in it.

It’s so sparkly and pretty and is worth the money I think, especially if you want to “curate” an ear and leave them in your ears constantly.

If you can though go into their store in Liberty and have someone fit it for you as it will feel much more of an “experience”

Trendytrousers · 18/02/2022 21:48

Ignore me, saw you’re in Cornwall!

Vulcanodon · 18/02/2022 23:28

I’ve got one, I love it. Never take it out, and fitted it myself. Took forever to arrive as it was out of stock when I ordered it.

I also love BVLA.

Enjoy yours, it’ll look amazing in your conch.

Isabelle70 · 19/02/2022 00:02

I have the invisible set diamond stud ready and waiting for my Tragus to heal. I brought it from Harrods in the new year when they had 10% discount. I read on the MT website that if the bar is too long they will swap them for a shorter one.

PinkCosYouAreSoVery · 19/02/2022 15:31

Thanks all, I love reading what jewellery you all have :)

@Trendytrousers I think one day I will venture into the big smoke for an in-store MT experience, I'd love it!

@Isabelle70 how long do you think you'll need to wait for your trigs to heal enough to swap it out?

@Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 thanks for the heads up re point size, I've had a 5mm in my conch, so I think the 6.5 should be ok but good to know they will send a new post if its not the right size.

@Vulcanodon well done on changing yours yourself - was it your conch or a different piercing?

I'm still waiting for a confirmation from Harrods about when it might be shipped (or not in stock!). I guess I won't hear until Monday earliest now. Aagghhh the wait...!

PinkCosYouAreSoVery · 19/02/2022 15:37

Minor update...after posting above, I logged into my account and order status has changed from 'being reviewed' to 'preparing for shipping' so hopefully that means its definitely in stock. I have had my hopes dashed before with Harrods, trying to order the Marquise diamond showing in stock, placed order, then next day get an email to say its out of stock. I gave up after trying to order that one 3 times!

Vulcanodon · 19/02/2022 16:49

Sounds positive OP!

To fit it more easily you could order a taper or use an old sterilised earring with a long pin to thread the backing through from the back of the piercing. Mines in my third lobe so it was an easy change! Or your local piercer might be able to change it for you?

Make sure you’re definitely healed before you do it though - 10 months is quite quick for a conch.

crosstalk · 19/02/2022 18:07

Interested. What's a conch?

Eastpoint · 19/02/2022 18:09

I have that stud as a tragus piercing & love it. I’ve had it since 2016 & haven’t taken it out.

Trendytrousers · 19/02/2022 18:56

@PinkCosYouAreSoVery if you get stuck ordering I’m always in Liberty and can see if they have one to put on hold for you to pay via phone I’m sure they do that?

Isabelle70 · 19/02/2022 20:44

@PinkCosYouAreSoVery I think I will leave it another couple of months before I change it. It's healing well as I am now used to sleeping on my other side :)
I have seen this one too for the lobes... but I want to find a cheap knock off so I can see what it looks like as I have diamond studs that I always wear.

If you own a Maria Tash earring/s - I want to hear from you!
PinkCosYouAreSoVery · 21/02/2022 19:09

@Eastpoint ooo would love to see a pic of your tragus! I'd love to get mine done but I wear airpod pros for a couple hours on bed each evening (I need to listen to a book to fall asleep) and end up sleeping with them in all night sometimes. Would I be able to have a tragus piercing or do you think it would put paid to my nightime habits?!

@Trendytrousers thank you that's very kind. I need to save up more for my next purchase!

Update...the earring arrived today, my local piercer fitted it for me, I love it! Will post a pic in a bit. Thank you all for joining in with my thread :) I love piercing threads!

PinkCosYouAreSoVery · 21/02/2022 19:12

@Isabelle70 sorry - meant to say those earrings are extremely pretty on lobes! Where are they from? Bet its going to be a long couple of months waiting to change your tragus out to the stud!

OP posts:
Eastpoint · 21/02/2022 19:19

I listened in mono while it was healing, the tragus swelled up quite a bit for a few months.

princessbear80 · 21/02/2022 19:19

OP that is a beautiful earring! Please post a photo when you have put it in Smile

Sadly MT are out of my budget, I order from With Bling London via Etsy. This is my latest which I have in my helix. www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1006973442/cluster-piercing-cluster-earring-stud?ref=yr_purchases

PinkCosYouAreSoVery · 21/02/2022 19:33

Here it is :-) pic taken just after it was put in so excuse it if looking a bit red. Also please excuse the forward helix scar, it’s still healing after being removed last week.

@Eastpoint can you get both in now comfortably (even when lying down on your side)?

@princessbear80 I think we must have similar taste! Is the back a flat back or is it a ball in the back?
