Which for an interview?

This is for a professional role (physiotherapist) but we wear a uniform so I don’t have a plethora of ‘work clothes’. We have been isolating due to covid until yesterday so I couldn’t go to the shops and the two pairs of trousers I ordered don’t fit right so I’m down to what I have!

Option 1:
Smart black jeans
Dark floral blouse
Tailored coat

Option 2:
Slim fitting black jumper
Dark leopard print long pleated skirt
Black boots and dark coat

Option 3:
Leather look leggings
Smart jumper
Boots

Please help me!

After seeing photos, 2

You say one pair of slim black trousers are too long.

Could you take them up with sellotape? It won’t last, but it would work for an interview. If you have time to get to a haberdashery department you can get iron on tape to make it permanent. There are plenty of videos online to show you how to do it.

When I have new trousers which I think might shrink I just fold up them inside to the length I want, and leave turning them up properly until they have been washed and worn a bit.

HeddaGarbled · 14/02/2022 20:22

one pair are too long

Turn them up: turn inside out, fold ends up to correct length, sew or stick down, iron while still inside out to give sharp hem. It will take 15 mins max.

LynetteScavo · 14/02/2022 20:23

Definitely option 2.

Bunce1 · 14/02/2022 20:24

Option 2. Smart enough.

teezletangler · 14/02/2022 20:25

Option 2 is fine

Shutupandcry · 14/02/2022 20:26

@HeddaGarbled @Whatdayisitnow I could try and do that but in a way I’d rather get my £30 back as I will never wear them again otherwise! If one of my other options would work. I think number 2 is a winner!

Definitely take the trousers up!

VirginiaQ · 14/02/2022 20:38

Definitely 2 and that was without the photo. Definitely, definitely 2 with the photo. No way would I wear jeans to an interview. There's no such thing as 'smart jeans'.

Shutupandcry · 14/02/2022 20:44

Thanks @VirginiaQ. I’m nervous now- I was feeling really confident in that outfit but now thinking I should attempt to turn up my ugly trousers. Do all women just wear black trousers to interview?!

2 even without the photos, lovely outfit!

Awrite · 14/02/2022 20:50

Outfit 2 is lovely. Wear it with confidence.

Shutupandcry · 14/02/2022 21:06

Thanks @Awrite @De88!

Option 2. Looks lovely in the photo.

I don't think jeans or leggings are appropriate for an interview.

timeforteaforyouandme · 14/02/2022 21:59

2 looks great!

hihellohihello · 14/02/2022 22:09

Would Vinted be any help? You can get stuff very cheaply. But if the time frames doesn't work I would say the skirt.

pancakesandsyrupplease · 14/02/2022 22:35

I'm a HPC manager. As long as you were the best candidate, you could wear any of these outfits and it would make no difference as to whether I'd want to employ you or not.
But, if I did take you on, I would forever remember you as the one who wore leather look leggings to their interview Grin

Outfit 2 sounds lovely, but 1 is also absolutely fine.

Iamnotamermaid · 14/02/2022 23:05

Option 2.

Option 1 ok if it is a video interview. Jean style trousers not usually a good look for interviews.

Alrightqueenie · 15/02/2022 06:51

Option 2
