This isn't a tell me how old I look post as such but a... do people think that women are older than they are all the time?
Someone just asked me if my next birthday was 45. Do I look 45?! (I am not 45, not that there is anything wrong with being older!!)
I don't want fawning but I'm a bit WTF, are people used to seeing women with no wrinkles or signs of ageing or.. ConfusedConfusedConfused
I thought my skin looked decent for how old I am and now I'm well, maybe it doesn't

@5128gap

If someone thought you were 45 then it isn't because of your skin quality. It looks gorgeous and you must be able to see you have no lines or wrinkles in that photo. People base age estimates on overall appearance taking into account figure, hair style, style of dress, and how you move and carry yourself. Few scrutinise wrinkles and they're a poor guide anyway as they start to form on some people in their 20s. Sagging is a better guide, but you don't have that either.
My guess was close! Why did you have the botox then, OP?

I agree that it's not just an unlined face. I am similar age to OP and my face is unlined (though I have minimal lip filler) but some of my peers began to get wrinkles in their early 30s, and now, in late 30s, the majority have some, in the form of crows feet or other.

I am 45 and wearing averagely and I definitely look older than you. It's the fine lines you are missing. Having said that someone 45 with a lot of Botox could probably look like you, so it is v hard to tell these days.

How old was the person who said this?

I don't think you look 45 either but I would really like to know how you do your eye make up - looks lovely!

@bergamotmint I had spinal surgery, after that the pain was gone but it was still etched all over my face hence the Botox. Was sick of having pain lines

I was going to say you look a similar age to me, I’m 38 next week. I do feel the pandemic has aged me though! I was still getting asked for ID 3 years ago 😩 white hairs and wrinkles are coming in thick and fast now.

BlackMagicWimpund · 14/02/2022 20:39

maybe that nurse was actually in her 30s too

Ha! I’m starting to doubt myself now Grin

@IvorCutler I totally agree, I looked youthful before the pandemic; now I feel like a greying, haggard crone! The stress of my current life stage (young kids & elderly/ill parents) also means I’m permanently worried about someone or other, which takes its toll
