My beauty resolution - worth doing?

This year I have resolved to only buy GOOD make-up. I've always been the type to go for the cheap and cheerful, but recently I have upgraded to mainly No 7, which is decent quality, with a couple of Benefit things. The thing is, I do think rather than have a dozen eyeshadow duos, it would be better to have three or four really good quality ones. The most expensive thing I use at the moment is Dandelion, but even at £25, a box lasts well over a year, being used every day.

So - are my instincts right? Is the quality really better if I pay more? And what would you recommend for someone upgrading from No 7? I don't want to spend loads on stuff and realise I was taken in by the shiny shiny!

I think it depends what it is - probably fine to buy cheapish eyeshadow for the odd night out, but you probably get what you pay for if you buy more expensive foundation.

I occasionally buy cheaper makeup but always regret it. Recently bought the new clarins mascara and its wonderful.

buy a decent foundation and concealer, and a good foundation brush.
Also, make sure the cleansers, toners, exfoliators, day cream, night cream you are using are good quality. They will enhance the 'performance' of your make up.

Good foundation, powder etc, Good for most stuff you will use everyday. Therefore I have a mix of MAC, Chanel, cheap for 'fashion' eyeshadows and bright coloured stuff
