What style top do you wear with A line skirts?

I have loads of skirts but very few tops -I have always found it easier to find nice skirts for some reason.
What do you think is the best shape/style of top to go with A line skirts? Need tops for both day and evening really.
Have a bit of a straight shape (ie no waist)...

day I wear boring 3/4sleeve vneck tees or jumpers, wrap cardies etc

no clue re evening

but think you need things to create a waist ie not smaocks or tunics

Something quite fitted. Anything baggy or that flared at the bottom will make you look like a sack of potatoes (which obviously you aren't).

tight/fitting, scooped or v-neck, showing some flesh at neck area

OK OK I get the hint! Shant buy any smocks! Thanks for the replies.
Slight hindrance which shouls have mentioned is that am a bit of a long term breastfeeder (fed DS1 till he was 2) so will need some access to boobs for a few months as DS2 is only 7 months now. Makes it harder I know.

those ones they call 'henleys' that are tight but buttoned [rummages] thus?

Pannacotta · 01/01/2008 16:44

White Stuff has lots of A-line skirtsthis season, hence lots of tops to match too (daytime casual).

i wear a plain stretch t-shirt with my a-line skirts - round necked or a v-necks good so you can accessorise with a necklace
