Please help - My hair is so frizzy and dry!

What am I doing wrong? I either use conditioner or a mask every time I wash it, I let it soak for a few minutes every time when I'm washing my body and face, I try to go for the ends. I usually let it air dry and then brush it, could that be the problem? Earlier today I washed it and put a mask on and it's the worst it has ever been in a while! It's like straw and fluffy. What is the problem here? My hair is very thick and curly shoulder length. Please help!

My hair's like this when it gets to a certain length. A good trim works wonders for me.

I'm surprised that you brush your hair since it's curly. Does it need to be brushed? Maybe try just using a wide tooth comb but before it has dried.

You could try changing your shampoo and conditioner, apparently your hair can get used to it and it doesn't work as well anymore.

Also you could wear a shower cap on the days you have a shower and you're not washing your hair to protect it from the steam.

You could condition it on days that you don't need to wash it. Just the ends though.

It’s dry brushing most likely. Unless I’m heat styling I only brush my hair right before I wash it because the results are pretty terrifying! I comb conditioner through in the shower to detangle and then I might work some styling product through with my fingers but that’s it, absolutely no brushing.

Stop brushing it.
If you use shampoo, stop that too and just use conditioner instead.
Then scrunch with gel and let it air dry.

Take a look at the Curly Girl Method.

Try this, works brilliantly,
only need one pump into the palm of your hand, then scrunch serum into wet hair. Then use hair dryer or air dry, tames the frizz.

Try Imedeen Hair and Nails. Takes 2 months to get into your system but I can’t recommend enough! Boots always have offers on and they’re just one a day. My hair is shiny and in very good condition now. My nails (which I don’t really bother with) are ridge free and shiny too! Am old but have kept my hair long.

Unbelievably impressed.

Don't brush it when it's dry if it's curly!! Use a wet brush or wide toothed comb while the conditioner is in, then rinse, do not vigorously rub with a towel etc, put product in and allow to air dry, some people plop but I haven't got time or inclination for that. I do use a good diffuser on occasion. Christ if I brush my hair when it's dry and I haven't meticulously straightened it first, I look like a cloud on legs

Curly girl method is too much hassle for me but I do avoid sls
