Tightlining

There is a thread on this every year or so. I've not really bothered with tightlining wince lockdown but thought id might start again. What are you all using these days? My eyes are sensitive. High end to budget, hit me with your favourites (and the duds too please)

I like the urban decay, I think it’s called tight liner.

cherrypiepie · 30/01/2022 11:58

I use Chanel kohl pencil for the last 10 years - I can't do a top line flick so have always tight lined !

One pencil last two years or so.

psuedocream3 · 30/01/2022 12:33

I use MAC Pro Longwear Fluidline with a small angled brush.

withlotsoflove · 30/01/2022 13:02

@cherrypiepie if you continue moving the pencil out from under your eyelashes , you’ll have the start of a cats eye. You can leave it there, or build on it.
Do it with your eyes open…
This can work on ageing and hooded eyes too!
🙂

Double wear eye pencil

Middleagedfrog · 30/01/2022 13:31

Avon glimmerstick.

cherrypiepie · 30/01/2022 15:29

@withlotsoflove thank you! Sound promising I will have a go!

BobbieT1999 · 30/01/2022 15:34

What is tightlining??

KatharinaRosalie · 30/01/2022 17:28

I'm usually a bit of cosmetics snob and go for high end, but Maybelline Tattoo Liner is the best I've found.

sleaf · 30/01/2022 17:30

Wunder2 or Essence. Both budget, just as good if not better than the high end brands and stay put all day.

Diablo2 · 30/01/2022 17:32

The absolute best for me is NARS high pigment longwear liner - it's the absolute holy grail. So easy to tightline with.

Lndnmummy · 30/01/2022 18:45

Thanks everyone, lots of good suggestions to try! Keep them

Loreal Mat Matic

Rimmel exaggerate eyeliner. Comes in a wee pot with a long handle. Hands down best ever. And cheap. Tip. Look at the mirror. Don't move your face. Just push the point of the nib in between lashes. Job done. No need to draw a line when you can literally dot/stamp the ink on.

rubytubeytubes · 30/01/2022 21:48

I have tried every black pigmented eye liner. It has to be liquid for longevity.
I didn’t rate the tattoo maybeline one at all, too thick and didn’t stay on
Best for me has been the L’Oréal super liner.

KateyKontent · 30/01/2022 22:05

I use the felt tip first and then the liquid liner. Cheap as chips.

Avon glimmersticks.

This is all so helpful. I popped into a small salon where I live today as I dont know when I'll venture the tubes again and I bought a liquid one from Blinc. The lady said it was good for sensitive eyes as it was in tubing form same as some mascaras. I was so excited I tried it in the car straight away. It is extremely pigmented and came off with my tubing mascara in my evening shower. This is really helpful for me as most eyemake up removers atinhs my eyes. I need to put it through its paces and ill report back. I also got a could it be a rimmel or revlon one in superdrug on the same trip. Yes I am a horder. It was a stunning khol, so pigmented and buttery soft. It was called scandelous something. Not sure about the wearing power but ill try them both and see. It will need a makeup remover though which is a bummer.

Wunder2 and Rimmel Scandaleyes both smear horribly on me, but I wear contacts and my eyes are quite watery.

Lancôme Stylo Waterproof was great but I think they’ve discontinued it. No difference between my Chanel Crayon Yeux and Rimmel Exaggerate eye pencils. I don’t like liquids as they are too intense.

Lndnmummy · 31/01/2022 14:34

So i trialled one eye with blink and one with khol (rimmel scandalous). I love the khol texture, really intense and creamy. I find the brush for the blinc ink rubbish so that put me off. Both eyes feel sore and irritated so its possible I am allergic to something. So annoying. The search continues.

About 5 hrs into the day

I second the Urban Decay ones. Absolutely brilliant

I am a PMU artist and get a lot of people coming to me for lash enhancement eyeliner which gives the same look. I wish I dared get it done myself, I am funny about my eyes being touched though Blush

Lndnmummy · 31/01/2022 15:16

Oh yes!! I'd love having it done semi permanently. But I don't think I'd be able to manage it. I hate people touching my eyes, I blink all the time. If I could have it under GA then I would!

OP posts:
KatharinaRosalie · 31/01/2022 15:50

I actually have a semi-permanent one, it's great, I'm fair so looked like a scared rabbit without makeup. But it's quite subtle so I still use liner on top for evening make-up.

Didn't hurt at all, can totally recommend. Your eyes are closed when they do it, so blinking is not an issue.

Imabouttoexplode · 31/01/2022 18:22

The 3 dot pencils are specifically for tightlining. I have this clarins one but there are cheaper versions www.clarins.co.uk/3-dot-liner/C050204015.html
