Where was it, what did you get done and was it worth the money?

Seaham hall or rockcliffe hall. Both North east and beautiful.

Blythswood (Glasgow) or Stobo.

Had a spa day with access to the facilities, afternoon tea/light lunch and massage and facial. I find Blythswood better value and if you're reasonably local they used to do a good offer to go in the evening to use the facilities (no treatments) and that was really good value.

The ladies spa in the Burj al arab.

I’ve been to a load of nice spas in the UK but the very best one I went to was in Thailand. There were a load of rooms, once after another, that started with an outdoor rose petal bath, then someone came to wash your feet, then inside for a massage, facial, mud wrap, a whole load of stuff. Utterly exquisite and never to be matched again.

Gleneagles, Auchterarder was my very favourite until they were taken over, the treatments are still amazing, but you know get a very "lite" lunch and it's doubled in price. Thankfully their customer service is very good and with notice you can order a normal lunch too.

I've also been to Blythswood and thought it was good, the huge hot tub is great and the ambiance is relaxing.

Ragdale Hall is lovely. It is entirely a spa, not just tacked on to a hotel.

Lots of classes and a whole series of steam rooms and saunas with different scents and temperatures - one is candle lit.

I went a million years ago when I was 24. I'm 50 now!
But it was fabulous! Still looks the same... a bit nicer now and more up-to-date than when I was there.
I'd been working like a dog, non-stop, in Paris. My health was shot. I was run down and underweight, constantly tired, and quite low at the time. I spent a few days at the spa and it was such a pick me up. I can see it hasn't changed much since the '90s! That long ago! I'm sure it's changed hands but it still looks as glorious as ever.
The surroundings are heaven on earth. You take a train to Perpignan (sp?) and I think, back then, I took a coach to the chateau itself.
