My hair has loads of colour on it and I am sure no more would take. Is there anything I can pick up in Boots to brighten it up a bit? TIA.

When I've done this, I go and buy a permanent dye in my natural hair colour (when I can remember what that is!)

You might need a trip to the hairdresser. They have magical potions. I had mad hair once and they put something on it they called 'Vegetable Dye.' I told them my hair was not a vegetable but they laughed at me. Actually, it was kinda carrotty coloured, now I think about it....

My natural colour is boring........

Hoping to get some straighteners so can't do a hair dresser trip as well.

What about a semi-permanent dye?
Have a look for some more "natural" ones, or even a deep intensive conditioner?

If you are on a budget, try out your local college hairdressers. They have all the equipment, lotions and potions that a regular hairdressers has and they take loads of care. I had the same problem, mad hair getting a bit dull, but they proposed semi-permenants in the same colours that were already in my hair. As the colour had already been stripped the semi's would take well without the damaging effects, and then I had a lovely deep conditioning treatment. My hair is back to being bright and glossy.

I have put a semi-permanent colour on and my hair looks so much better. Even my 2.5 year old noticed! My 6 year old isn't too keen. I like it though.
